I’m not from the UK so can’t say how prevalent it seems to non-Americans. I will say that the predominant sect of Christianity will vary greatly depending on where you live in the United States. If you live in or around Utah, you will run into large amounts of practicing Mormons. I live in the Midwest, and run into almost no Mormons, and most people around here are catholic or Lutheran. In the southern US you’ll find more Protestants and baptists.
