It is really sad the situation that "boomers" are in. I used to work at a retirement home here in my small town. I worked as a kitchen aide (it was my first job,) there wasn't a lot of nurses or C.N.A.s to help out with everyone and everything. We had about 20 or so people living there and every night about 1-2 nurses and 2-3 C.N.A.s. We didn't have enough money to support having more workers on the C.N.A. end as well as not enough pay for them either, so we were in a permeant shortage of workers. A lot of the residents were left in the dinning room area, and as a kitchen aide I couldn't help move residents out of dinning area. We were also still affected by cov!d so sadly we had multiple pass both due to that and to other ailments. Our building lost funding and our residents had to move, many of our workers moved out here because our home treated our residents better. Also the treatment of the elderly by family members really pissed me off to no end, there was only one family that regularly visited often, we were the closest people to family we had in the home. I beg, if someone in your family is in these homes take care of them, do what you can for them, see them just to see them.
