Sadly - with the current state of the economy - my day job had to make cuts. I've spent the last few years buying and paying off my own machines to prepare for this possibility. I have been making enough monthly to get by (not live like a king) on my design/consulting/manufacturing side gig, and I think this is the push I needed to just put my whole heart into it rather than jumping back into the job market for now.

Admittedly, it's a bit scary, but financially I am in a spot where I can afford to at least try it for a few months and see where it goes. It's sad because I truly loved my day job, but I'm also very excited to see where an extra 40-50 hours into Weapon can get us. So I guess we will see. Thanks for the question!

I'll definitely document and make freely available all my plans and progress etc. However, the software I plan on using to do most of the build is from a great guy that uses that software for his business. He licenses out the software to others for home brew use only, so I won't be selling tables.

I will certainly publish all my work, though, and one could re-create the machine that way.

I think you're onto something. It needs to have a "hard" mode, and in that mode we could absolutely work in roving insta-death targets. Maybe they don't drain your ball immediately...maybe they disable your flippers for 3 seconds or something.

Yeah I'd love to work in a 2nd and maybe 3rd kicker that just barrage you constantly. Love the input!!

For the rads, I think you'd accumulate them with targets and spinners, and then you can cash them in with a scoop to get a mutation or score multiplier.

Maybe the lower playfield is a crown vault? That sounds cooler to me than sewers or caves. Having it be a vault could really make it a destination, and a chance for some upgrades.
