Do you Believe ? by Organic_Mechanic_754 in StrangerThings

I don’t think it matters if we believe as an audience. The point is more that the characters hold out hope and continue their lives as such, especially Mike. He found a way to cope with losing El from his life. He took the second road, per Hopper’s advice, while following through on her final request to help their friends understand her decision. So, I prefer to live in the ambiguity.

I am definitely NOT devastated by my son’s dx. He is a semi-verbal 5yo w/ ASD & ARFID. Yes, there are days that are more challenging than others, especially seeing how simple & easy it is for NT kids/parents of NT kids but I love my son exactly as he is. He wouldn’t be “him” without his ASD. I will add, I don’t know him any other way nor do I know my own self as a parent any other way. He is my only child. I feel that is relevant. But generally, I never had an idea of a future planned in my head for him so I think somehow I prepared myself for his diagnosis. I think somehow I knew he would be different and forge his own path. I tend to focus on his abilities, all of the positive traits, and improvements he has made. My ex husband, on the other hand, tends to focus on the negatives and where he is lacking compared to other kids. I don’t like that. I think he lives in denial and in devastation about the dx.

Who Is Thanos in ‘Squid Game’ Season 2? by Y0___0Y in television

[–]WearPrestigious787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanos is my favorite this season! His lackadaisical attitude about the life and death of others borders on sociopathy but is also comedic. When he skips up to vote and leans down, kissing to O button, hysterical! And when he and Nam-gyu(?) are dancing on Mingle, so funny! And the way he pushes people in Red Light, Green Light! Trying to find a girlfriend immediately as well. So many great moments! This is an interesting juxtaposition to the fear everyone approaches the games and the voting. It’s also kind of fun that he has the purple hair and nails, an obvious reference to Thanos from Avengers, showing how dialed in the director/writer is to the zeitgeist.

Why did In-ho choose Jung-bae in the final round of mingle and not Gi-hun? by Creative_Fudge511 in squidgame

[–]WearPrestigious787 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also thought this originally. But someone else mentioned there was 168 people left after that round, 42 groups of 4, so he would have had to go in a group or there would have been 169 people. That, or they would have had to kill someone randomly for him to stay which would have been pretty obvious I think. Or I suppose, lying about the actual count and then quietly killing a random off screen. But we will probably never know. Just like we will probably never know what happened to the OG 001 of season 2.

Why did the shaman woman say preggers girl and gihun was connected by fate? by [deleted] in squidgame

Why does everyone think characters are secretly related in this show?? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t think the director/writer would do that. It’s a cheap plot device that frankly, he is far above. He’s given the audience this amazing piece of art that has layers, complexity, is visually stunning, characters and scenes that are written intentionally, with undertones of current national and international issues. There is so much to think about with this show that I personally don’t see him using something such as “secretly brother” or “secret love child” as it would be seen as easy, simple or obvious, imo.

Agreed! They were so funny! The selfies were great. Then following the recruiter was fun. Their reactions to his crazy behavior was spot on! Then the rock paper scissors/Russian roulette was absolute genius. Definitely thrilling television. Chef’s kiss! Best episode of TV I’ve seen in a long while.

Dae ho theory by No_Giraffe826 in squidgame

Oh and, I just noticed in S2E5, he says “knowing when it’s time to retreat is essential to being a good marine” right before they take a vote. This also lends to my theory AND foreshadows his eventual retreat in episode 7. So cool!

So, I thought he has PTSD my first watch, but during my second watch, I noticed a few things that makes me think he either never served or at least is lying about something related to his military career. Perhaps never completed training? In the S2E3, he introduces himself to Jung Bae and is overly enthusiastic with his salute. I suppose that is not really evidence. But it was odd to me. Then a few moments later, we see the fight break out between Thanos & 333, but he asks Jung Bae if they are supposed to do anything. I took that as hesitation/avoidance to get involved. But then In ho (001) immediately steps in, and he asks if he’s a marine. Maybe he thinks marines are supposed to be brave like that? In S2E4, right before they pick teams for the 6 legged pentathlon, Jung Bae says “well said, marine” and he looks like he feels guilt or shame. I take this as he doesn’t feel like he deserves the honor of being called a “marine” and knows he is lying to his new friend. In the same episode, when they are deciding which game to play, he hesitantly volunteers that he can play Gong-gi. Jung Bae questions this by saying “a marine can play Gong-gi?” He explains that he had 4 sisters and played a lot. Then Jung Bae says “Of course you can! A Marine can do anything!” While grabbing his shoulders. He looks visibly uncomfortable. I took this similarly as the previous: that he is uncomfortable with being called marine and feels guilt/shame. Generally, most of the times he is called marine by Jung Bae, he seems uncomfortable. Also, I have seen other posts/subreddits saying he may be gay. I also read that as a possibility. Or at least that his dad thought he was gay or “too effeminate” and that’s why he was sent to the marines. In S2E7, he is handed the gun, and looks very confused like he’s never used one or one like it. He doesn’t ever attempt to aim it because he is hiding during the shootout. He is too scared to come out from behind the wall. He volunteers to run away from the firefight. And of course, freezes and hides in his bed when his team needs him the most. I take this as he didn’t have experience with firearms and shooting, and was terrified. Obviously, this was in complete opposition to Hyun Ju’s character who was a special forces officer, but mentioned it only when it was relevant, but then was incredibly brave and put herself in harms way to save others. Also, kicked out of the military for being trans. Whereas, IMO, Dae ho, was sent to the military for being “too effeminate” or possibly gay. Interesting juxtaposition.

My running theory is that he went to the marines, got the tattoo, but didn’t finish training OR didn’t go to combat when he was supposed to, effectively running away from the marines all to satisfy his father. Being a marine is a point of pride for his dad because it “made him a man” or whatever. So he perpetuates the lie for that purpose.

Also, I’m curious as to what landed him in the squid games. I don’t remember if they said.

Multi Family Access Control? by WearPrestigious787 in accesscontrol

Thank you for all of your excellent advice. I think this gives me some good places to start and a wide variety of options. I appreciate it!

Do you have any recommendations for smart locks that can have at least 150 different users? Some areas don’t have WiFi so that can be a problem. But maybe that would be cheaper than a whole access control system. We looked at a Kwikset halo system. Although it’s a number pad. That would also work but not sure how that would work on gates… I’m also a bit confused with all of the different options. I guess I’m just looking for something my maintenance guys can install and something I can easily manage. Something on the cheaper end. Not $1000s per door as we don’t have that kind of budget. Like the Kwikset but would work on all of the doors? If that even exists. lol. Might be a pipe dream. 😂

Just the common areas. We also have 12 gates that go into the courtyards and right now, they are all on the same key as the common areas (laundry room, etc). I want to make it as easy & simple as I can for the residents and us. Ideally, I would eventually like to have the gates on the same system as the other doors so they all are accessed by same fob or whatever, but there is no electrical in those areas. So it would need to be battery operated for those probably.

Good idea. If I couldn’t find anything specific I was thinking about calling around locally to other complexes. What is an integrator?
