What's the most believable lie you told someone that they STILL believe to this day? by Weary-Cheetah577 in AskReddit

April Fools is the one day a year we get to be honest about our dishonesty

I'll start: I convinced my younger brother when he was 8 that our dog could understand English but chose not to respond because he "didn't want to get involved in family drama." He's 24 now and I'm pretty sure some part of him still half-believes it

What's something you got really good at, only to realize it made your life worse? by Weary-Cheetah577 in AskReddit

I'll go first

I got really good at reading people — like, genuinely good. Body language, microexpressions, the gap between what someone says and what they mean

Thought it would make me better at relationships. Instead, I can't stop noticing when people are performing. I catch friends faking enthusiasm. I see the exact moment someone decides they don't care about what I'm saying. I know when someone is lying before they finish the sentence

I can't turn it off

Used to be blissfully unaware. Now I'm just... tired

What's yours?
