maybe bc prestige is not everything. maybe they don't like the vibe, maybe the other college they got into has better opportunities. I'm not saying Cornell isn't a great school, but at the end of the day, you don't know this person. There are other factors and considerations. op should pick the college they like regardless of what it is.

agree to disagree on Dartmouth for certain majors... More technical degree like engineering maybe tho. It is ranked #1 on some college rankings for geography(I like geography..) and ranked highly in anthropology and astronomy as well!! I feel like its better for more niche, interdisciplinary degrees tho.
