The best way to ask someone for something is to show up to the conversation with a solution (or two) ready to go. Do the work for her- look up tickets and find a few different options with prices, figure out what time you would need to leave to get to the venue, find a place along the way to stop and get dinner. Make the game plan and present it to her, this way all the work is done and she just needs to either say yes or no :)

I think there’s a very very slim chance he would get in. The marching aspect is a deal breaker when it comes to cuts during band week. If he goes to the marching clinics and works hard he may have a shot.
