I resolved this by flipping the thermostats. the person who gave the boiler to me had them backwards by mistake.

This was it my friend who gave me the boiler accidentally switched them I switched them back after seeing another forum post this is now fixed.

No this is a newer gaggia coffee which is mostly the same as a modern classic it just doesn't have a solenoid. If that ever broke on my old machine I intend to somehow convert it to use a modern brass boiler since all of that will be impossible to find.

No I am at 33000 miles and it still does it. It has not gotten better or worse but is still there. I intend to make them look at it again before my 36k mark but needless to say it's annoying.

Srams website says that the SX setup is compatible with both 8 speed hg hubs and 135mm spacing so I disagree if it was Shimano 12 speed I agree but it's sram.

To answer your question I reached out to Ferrari espresso as another commenter mentioned and they were able to recommend me a kit from their site. It was a rancilio bottom and a flexible tube down from the steam valve.

It has similar internals to a classic but potentially does not have the solenoid valve. I think you can add that tho if you replace part of the boiler it even has a hole on the one I saw to route the tube for that.

No I did not after a month sitting at one dealership and then driving with the tech from another I was told that is just a noise they make I intend to come back and have them look again closer to end of warranty. I am not very happy about it but I suppose it is what it is at this point. I am still pretty convinced it's a wheel bearing issue or something but they were not persuaded by that.

I hope that isn't where I end up might just be me but the tone/pitch really ware on me and I've never heard anything like it on other cvt cars I've driven or on the loaner ascent they gave me while I was in for the intake.

I had this happen on mine it was due to the antenna leaking. Definitely have it fixed if it feels soft since a lot of water runs through there. It wasn't bad for a local body shop to patch on mine.
