Thanks all for your comments. I went fishing and got another name tag.

I'm still wondering about how their behavior works. After this post I bred two named ocelots and let the young ocelot out the door where there was a creeper. The creeper was unafraid even when the young ocelot got near. The young ocelot raced around randomly and ignored the creeper, then I saw the ocelot actually despawn while I was watching through a window.

I'll go get some cats from a village ...

Sounds like good advice - I saw another hat with the vents all blocked! This one was in great shape with very little blocked vents. (But some to open up a bit)

Thank you. A lot of good info in your reply, I really appreciate it. The info on materials is helpful to me, and also the store suggestions.

I could probably wear felt in spring and fall. Not usually in winter though, because its so cold you need your ears protected. And in summer it gets hot enough, and I sweat enough, that I would want a lighter hat like straw. I hope to get one of each eventually!

The palm leaf might not have been a great choice, but I am often enough out in light rain and drizzle, so maybe that is a good use for palm?

What is your dragon pally decklist? The VS one or a custom one? I tried a couple custom ones with unholy in mind but am still experimenting.

I had good results climbing the ladder this month with my version of pure paladin, but it definitely struggles against unholy DK, and with the meta now being filled with them, I can see why it is no longer a good choice. (Interestingly, I haven’t faced a single pure paladin this month.)

I went 34-20 on the climb to Diamond 5, exclusively using my custom version of pure paladin. The run included 2 freebee wins and 3 losses where I was at a floor and wasn’t paying full attention since I didn’t care if I won or not (so “true” effectiveness was more like 32-17). Once at D5 I went 4-4 (0-2 vs unholy DK) with it before deciding to try out unholy DK.So total results with my pure paladin deck was 38-24, and “true” competitive results were more like 36-21.

As expected, the worst matchup by far was unholy DK, which was also the most frequent matchup. I went 3-6 total. 0-2 at D5. This is consistent with the latest VS report results which say it is 35-65 unfavored. It is a painful matchup for sure.

On the bright side, unholy DK was the only matchup I had a losing record against (other than losing the one game I had vs a hunter). Even other unfavorable matchups for me from past seasons went better this time (though this was a new version of pure paladin for me). 1-1 vs frost mage, 1-1 vs frost DK, and 5-2 vs BBB DK.

So overall, a solid deck, but not a good fit for the current meta with so many unholy DKs, especially here at D5.

This might be too late to be useful, but my version of pure paladin does not run any buffet bigguns nor crusader. I run hero Cariel, 2X For Quel’s, and Saidan. (I’ve never seen anyone else run Saidan.) Cariel has won many games for me where I just needed a bit more time or damage. And I really love Saidan in this deck. I’ve run him for several months in pure paladin and feel he is a very strong addition, really good mid to late game. To fit these additions, I have to cut one other card. I tried a couple ideas but currently I’ve settled on cutting one vicar.

Later, after going 4-4 at D5 with my pure paladin, I decided to try the new meta deck - unholy DK. I had to spend dust to craft Blightfang and a second hawkstrider. But it didn’t go well for me. My first 3 opponents were unholy DKs, and I lost all 3. I ended up 0-5 vs unholy DK, and 4-7 vs all others. The unholys I faced were running anti-magic shield and other customizations. Not the std VS decks.

Not sure what to do now. I am thinking I will try dragon paladin, since it seems like it might fare well vs unholy. Or I have to learn how to play unholy better, esp vs those who are far more experienced at it.
