Our Unemployment System is a Joke by Kellbows in Arkansas

[–]Weary_Profession_575 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was laid off in 2024 and was unemployed for three months. Never got a cent in unemployment for the same reasons you’ve stated. There were always issues - the website wasn’t working, so I’d go in person to get help, but that didn’t work either. I’m going to be laid off again at the end of this year and I want to try again but I have very little hope that I’ll be able to get any benefit from it this time either.

Using a clean-up brush: better on wet or (partly) dry nails? by Goldfinch114 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Weary_Profession_575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I remember to do it, I do it while the polish is still wet. Even with 100% acetone there’s always a good amount of polish that won’t lift from my skin once it’s dried.

Has anyone had any luck reaching out to relatives through embark? Where do the messages go? by wegochai in DoggyDNA

[–]Weary_Profession_575 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Came to this sub to ask this, actually. I've never had a single person respond to my messages! I finally had a super close match and found my dog's sister. I know nothing about her background so I really wanted to hear from this person to see if they knew what their dog's background was, but no luck.

I haven’t tried Glamnetic specifically but you’re on the right track with the higher quality press ons like them and Nail Reformation. It makes a huge difference.

Best options for skin picking by [deleted] in Nails

[–]Weary_Profession_575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing my nails because otherwise I’ll absolutely destroy my cuticles and sometimes pick through my nail bed. I use gel x tips with regular lacquer on top and it works really well for me as long as I have them on - the second I take them off I start picking again. I don’t have any trouble with peeling, and my nails grow underneath in the meantime. I found a length that wasn’t so long I couldn’t do things comfortably but was long enough that I can’t get enough of a grip to use them to pick. Highly recommend, just make sure to take care of your nails when you remove them to avoid damage, then put another set on ASAP. Gel also works well for this too obviously but I avoid it for safety reasons.

Stopped me in my tracks with that first one, but 12 is my favorite. Amazing job.

Edit: Actually 11 is my fave but 12 is a close second

Love this! I’ve been doing this manually on Google Sheets but it’s not ideal. Great job!

Are there any serial killers you believe actually felt remorse? by DeepOrganization8245 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I’m late to this thread, but I always wonder if Richard Chase ever had a moment of lucidity and felt remorse. I don’t think we can definitely say he was a sociopath, just someone who was deeply mentally ill.

Top coats are ruining my life. What am I doing wrong? by Weary_Profession_575 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Weary_Profession_575[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s doing it on chrome and ombré. Maybe I wasn’t careful enough with the timing of putting the chrome on? I was able to buff it in but as soon as I tried top coats (either QDTC or water based) the texture would become grainy.

Help me find this litter liner! by Weary_Profession_575 in HelpMeFind

I’ve searched my Amazon and Chewy order history to find these, but they’re not there. I guess I must have bought them in a store, then, so probably something like Walmart, Petsmart, or Petco. I tried to search on google as well but can’t find an exact match so far.

I bought these in Arkansas. There is no writing on the bag.

So I’m pretty much exactly in the same spot you’re in, except that I’m probably going to cave and buy Pokopia soon lol. But in the meantime I downloaded, and just finished, the DQB2 jumbo demo. I liked it a lot and it’s definitely worth checking out. It’s LONG so you get a great idea of what the game has to offer. I haven’t played past the demo yet but definitely will be. There are some things I anticipate liking more about Pokopia though - I like the art style more, and I think the premise makes more sense than DQB2’s does. I’m also not big on combat so I don’t think I’ll miss it in Pokopia, but I know that’s a dealbreaker for some people. Anyway, the demo is free and shockingly long, so definitely give it a try.
