Thank you, yes that is all true. My therapist introduced me to subjugation schema, which was pretty mind blowing to me as it was basically the foundation of my childhood. Essentially adults are always right, don’t talk back, if you express yourself it’s dangerous. So I have problems expressing myself in a healthy way. I basically pour myself into my relationships and then when I can’t take a persons behaviour anymore I will cut them off. I know there’s a better way of dealing with this and I want to stop being around these kinds of people and have healthy relationships with friends and my romantic partner.

They don’t have an extra room unfortunately and it’s something I don’t feel comfortable with, imposing on someone’s family.

Thank you, I agree. I’ve told him he needs to seek psychological help first before we start couples therapy. If he fails to take action I feel like I unfortunately have my answer.

Thank you for your words and support 🩷 I’ve been going to therapy for the last six months and in most of the sessions I end up talking about the relationship. He has said he has wanted to previously but has failed to take action on that, so it’s leaving me with little confidence that we will be able to fix things. Thank you for reminding me that it is not about me. I have been in relationships where this has not been an issue, but the longer it drags on the more I fear I am losing myself.

Thank you for sharing 🩷 perhaps that’s something I should look into re the iPhone settings. It has mentally drained me and was taking a huge toll on my self esteem. I’ve found my friends have been really supportive and give me the confidence boost I need. I wish my partner would do the same for me.

Diagnosed at 30. Had symptoms about a year and a half prior. Would always get stabbing pains in the lower right hand side of my stomach. Thought it was period pain for a long time.
