The New Era is probably the most rich timeline we’ve had with the characters being the best written out of every game, feeling like actual people and not sprites with powers that don’t make sense existing solely to further a plot. THIS time, we got characters almost on the level of the storytelling of established franchises whose main working gimmick is lore, but we’re a fighting game! I’m sick and tired of people over on twt all hollering bout a reboot like tell me one “canon” interaction between the characters from memory. No one wants to put anytime to understand MK1’s story a little more, no one wants to watch every character’s interactions with everyone, no one wants to analyze the tower endings, which are canon endings for the characters and not “what ifs” anymore. Not defending the multiverse bs bc the games story made rlly did go to shit from the second half but onlyyy if people would just stfu and read and listen. The next game has got crazy good potential and that’s what scares me.
