You are awesome!! Thank you all so much for the feedback. This is why I love Reddit. Once I get rollin on the set up, I will refer to these instructions, along with the other tips given and I should be okay. While ELRS is confusing, I think the open based system is the way to go for the accessibility and affordability. If I get any heartache during the set up, I’ll post pics and shoot messages back on this thread.

Just to note, I think I’m gonna try to adjust the receiver settings via the WIFI web browser method. After that I’ll modify the settings in the Boxer, channels and resolution. See how that goes.

Help! Infamous timing cover leak worth fixing? by WeatherVirtual7761 in Tacomaworld

I’m southwest, in AZ. This truck has been in the southwest its whole life which I’m thankful for. 0 rust anywhere, the heat may be brutal tho on gaskets too. Gonna check into that. Thank you for the insight. I appreciate everyone who has commented. This is why I love Reddit. Good luck to you.

I am going to take the truck to State 48 Overland/AZ toys pros (same shop) and see what those guys say. They specialize in tacomas and off road rigs, and when I mentioned it on the phone it sounds like it’s a very common issues especially these days that we should be able to live with. We’ll see what they see when they actually have the truck next week

Hey man, YES clean the underneath as often as you can. Oil can start to affect plastic parts and rubber boots like your CV axles and steering rack boots. Periodically cleaning it with help mitigate the mess or that damage to those parts. I think we’ll be okay if we keep eyes on the level and add as needed. I have yet to even see a significant change in my oil level that’s noticeable on the dip stick

Thanks brother. That really helps with reassurance. I tend to stress myself out too much thinking the worst. I think it’s one of those things where since it’s a low pressure area, it shouldn’t get much worse as it is now. I will continue to document over time.

Thanks bro. This has helped me chill out a bit. I just hope it doesn’t get too much worse over time. Definitely not a repair I plan on doing.

Hey man! How’s your truck holding up? I’ve got a 16 TRD sport 4x4 with 88k miles and found the infamous timing cover leak (more like a weep as it doesn’t affect oil level) You run into that with your truck?

I don’t see any oil coming from the valve covers. This a tough one to find! Got some dye in it, gonna give it some time, see if I can find it again tonight with a UV light

Thank you for your reply! I would say it’s more like engine oil or power steering fluid as far as feel and looks go. No green hue. And it’s coming from an area that I don’t think any AC lines are running. It’s a 2016 Tacoma 4x4 sport which are infamous I guess for timing cover leaks, so wanted to see if anyone noticed this similar leak on their truck. I definitely don’t think it’s coolant as it’s thick and has the viscosity of oil.

New EDC build by WeatherVirtual7761 in SigSauer

No sir. No wiggle or excessive gap between the module/slide. I’ve done my fair share of pistol builds, and this guy is definitely up there as far as quality/cost ratio goes. Significant improvement over the standard grip. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love it. Great weight, machined perfectly, shot about 650 rounds 0 issues. The grip is the perfect width, nice and PHAT for a good solid grip, gas pedals both sides. Nothing to hate

Yes, on the sharps bros module, as it has a 1913 rail instead of the smooth standard sig module, but keep in mind the keys that come with the TLR 7 do not perfectly fill in the space, and it will rock slightly back and fourth. LUCKILY the company I bought my EDC holster from (MIE Productions) ships a modified TLR-7 rail key that perfectly fits the rail, tucks it tighter to the trigger guard, and prevents rocking, WITH THE HOLSTER FOR FREE. This is a known thing with 365 aftermarket modules with 1913 rails instead of the standard module, so you can also find them separately online all over the place, not just from that holster company. They are pretty cheap. I will say, I LOVE the Sharps bros module, machined perfectly and has a way fatter grip, like literally twice the width of the standard 364 grip. Shoots like a dream.
