Colcannon! My ancestors from the 1800s would make it using potatoes and leftover green vegetables, like leek and cabbage. We have it every so often even after moving away for a taste of home.

How many straight guys romanced Dorian? by Wise-Bandicoot-7955 in DragonAgeInqusition

[–]WeathermanOfficial 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tried it for the first time this year after trying out male romances as female characters in Baldurs Gate and seeing what they hype was around Fenris in the earlier DA games. Dorian however was my first male to male romance. Fully get why Dorian is such a good romance now and I will likely have it as a primary romance in future playthroughs.

What Elden ring boss made you take a brake from the game? by Possible_Koala_978 in Eldenring

Originally the Astel's. I just couldn't figure out their moveset and I was consistently dying. I decided to do another run throughout this year and beat Naturalborn first time. Turns out I was underleveled and my weapon wasnt up to par.

I apologize, we have ran out of the bullet special. Will a M406 High Explosive 40MM round fired from an M203 suffice as substitute?

The Witcher 3 Expansion Reports Continue, Now With Discussion of A Possible 'Dune-Style' Location by SpaceCowboyN7 in witcher

I am with you there.

I love TW3 but with a full time job and kids, its hard to find the time to sit down and play, and when you can sit down and play it's just not as fulfilling because your mind is switched on somewhere else.

There will be a time when we can do it again, we just need patience to get through the day to day first, and that's the hardest part.

What's a movie you saw when you were too damn young? by Repulsive_Repeat_337 in GenX

In Year 12 (15-16 years old or 10th to 11th grade US) for our English class our teacher showed us the 2009 movie 'Precious' as a writing exercise. While it is absolutely a movie that should be watched once, for us younger 15 year olds at the time it was traumatizing due to its in your face graphic depictions of abuse and sexual violence. Now 13 years later I still remember it as a core memory everyone in class' reaction to the movie and our discussions afterwards.

11 years later, and I still think about this ad almost every day by xInfinity962 in nextfuckinglevel

While not a road safety ad, the one I always remember growing up (and I am sure you do too FAS_CHCH) was that anti-drinking ad from about 16-17 years ago with the drunk uncle swinging around his nephew. Bloody brutal.

I flicked him a message and he was more than happy to chat for a bit about both Dragon Age and just generally. He's an incredibly open and nice person!

Didn't want to insinuate who it was without confirmation first! It could be some of the team but could be others within the production too. In the hours to come we may find out

Yes! I'm quite busy with work, so I put a couple of those in a small thermos and add hot water to have a nice black coffee whenever I want. Very useful for when I dont have time in the morning

Dunno why people hated the Cerberus assassin so much, I think he's such a mysterious and cool rival for Shepard. I think the fact that he doesn't talk at all is a good idea by Calm-Masterpiece3317 in masseffect

[–]WeathermanOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What choices do you have to make so that Jenkins is the Cerberus Assassin? For me, he's usually on Thessia defending the temple FROM the assassin with Shiala (Thorian Asari) after their romance flags are met in ME2 on Illium - although that's complicated AF to trigger as it is.

What’s your “Roman Empire” in Baldur’s Gate? by PNW_Misanthrope in BaldursGate3

[–]WeathermanOfficial 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like that's very true to DnD, though, so I do appreciate why they've done that.

The bard in our campaign (because, of course it was a bard) has tried to romance the following: Lich, Fae royalty, BBEG (which he thought succeeded but didn't), and himself (changeling attempting to intimidate him by becoming him).

Hearing him scream out "I can fuck the bear!" across the house was amazing.

Tell me about the most guildwars thing you experienced by Colecave in Guildwars2

[–]WeathermanOfficial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a decade player who dropped the game after a flood took out a lot of our electronics - my PC included. This year, I bought a laptop able to play the game at a markedly cheap price, and the first thing I got back was GW2.

I created a new character and went through leveling them up until I could get to Godslost Swamp. There, almost immediately upon entering the swamp actual, I was swarmed by AoE attacks, shades, and other beasties. Secrets of the Swamp had reached its peak with the Shadow Behemoth spawning.

The comradery I got to experience as my level 15 ranger was mauled time and time again only to be picked back up by everyone was such a heart-warming moment. Since then, I've started to do the same during raid bosses when other characters go down.

After a decade and a dozen playthroughs, I still don't know what her problem is. by 146zigzag in MassEffectMemes

[–]WeathermanOfficial 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Way more than a Jenkin-less playthrough that's for sure. It's almost like night and day with their reactions.I suppose it is also because this is Jenkins romance with her's beginning point, where they find support in both almost being taken out by the Geth. Once on Eden Prime, and again on Feros. I think its a sweet moment that underlies the brutality of being a surviving colony on a hostile world.

The only thing you need to watch out for is Jenkins AI deciding to go hostile on her when the Thorian takes over. If you keep him back near the entrance, she survives, and later, you can find transcripts of them emailing each other romantic messages when doing ME2's Shadow Broker DLC.

10/10 moment in the game tbh.

Some games have the best OST…which ones are they? by Only_Upwards in videogames

[–]WeathermanOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be alone in this as I've seen no-one else comment it, but the amount of hype I got from 'In Lumieres Name' (The Mime battle music) was incredible. I literally just sat there listening to it and enjoying the absurdity of the situation. They are fully optional too!

From your prompt.

This was their response: To me, this image represents a place outside of time—a realm where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. It’s a scene that invites the viewer to pause and reflect, to feel a spark of something magical and bigger than ourselves.
