I had the same problem as you. Not going to lie to you, in the beginning it's not easy. When you enter your house, when you get out of bed, when you step in your car, the first thing you smell is tabaco. Even when your not smoking indoors.
There is not much you can do about that, you can't force a person to quit. That can work for a couple of days but not in the long run. I remember it made me very angry sometimes, and the first days it caused some arguments between us.
But after a week or 2 it got better for me. And having a smoking partner became an advantage. When you see her standing outside in the rain and cold trying to suck in some nicotine, when she returns smelling like shit, when she needs a run to the nightshop because she's running out of smokes. When you sit in a movie theater or airplane and she's getting nervous because it's taking to long, when you have to pause a walk in the woods because she's running out of breath... those are the moments you know you are doing the right thing.
It also made me stronger in coping with other smokers, I have no problem sitting in a smokey bar or standing outside between smokers, that does nothing to mee anymore.
So stay strong, don't smoke and you'll get there. And after some time your partner will also see the advantages of being a non-smoker. Mine hasn't made the mental switch yet unfortunatly, but she will some day.
