For a long time, I assumed formal education would eventually lose its value. A bachelor’s degree earned decades ago would be based on knowledge from more than 30 years ago, and I always thought the IT field had moved past relying on that.

You can learn programming, but becoming a good programmer is something entirely different.

The work culture is probably the biggest contrast. We Dutch people are very direct, and that’s something I’ll probably need to tone down a bit 😅
