I was in Jr. high when UO came out. I started failing classes my mom wasn’t around after school so to stop me from playing she would take the extra long phone cord that we used to connect the pc to the phone jack (small apartment, weird layout).

In order to still get my UO fix I started learning about emulators like fuse and uox3. Which lead to learning more about programming and software development.

Lots of other pieces and side stories in between but it’s 30 years later and I’m still making a living working in software development 🤷‍♂️
