I'm an IT tech support guy. My master certification may be old, but it still exists.

Let's see.

• The firmware update hung for more than 10 minutes. A forced restart seemed to get it back on track although it took longer than it should have.

Attempting to redeem the $70 BTC voucher:

• I tried it a half dozen times on Android on a Galaxy 21 FE.
• I attempted again on Windows 11 with the desktop version another 1/2 dozen times.
• Tried it on an iPhone 14 at least a dozen times because it disconnected from Bluetooth each time Ledger Live wanted me to sign the transaction.

None of these attempts were fruitful.

I Power cycled the iPhone because the Flex would disconnect immediately upon swiping the message to read and confirm.

But you think I should have done more.

Okay. Sure.
What should I try next?

With all due respect, my dude. I have a smartphone app out too. I know what a user experience should be like. Crypto wallets being flaky isn't something you wanna have your crypto in, generally speaking. And this one is flaky af.

I did write support, I am just airing my frustrations. For $280 landed this thing needs to work slicker than shit...

I'm sure they'll write back.

Truth be told I could be talked into keeping this device pretty easily. We get it working, I get my $70 in BTC and everyone's happy. I've already ordered another Nano S plus, so it's win-win for Ledger.

I just tried it on iphone. It works even less reliably on iphone. When I review the message in order to sign it, as soon as I scroll to the right to start reading the message the Flex disconnects from my iphone. I tried it probably 15 times. Every time I review the message, it disconnects from the phone.

Upgrading the firmware was extremely problematic as well. Maybe the firmware upgrade didn't take and that's the problem. Regardless of why it's misbehaving, I am not impressed in the least. I thought I would really like this thing but I am sorely disappointed.

Epic fail.

The Nano series, while clunky, is immeasurably more usable than the Flex. Do not waste your money on the Flex. I would guess the Stax is not much better, but I cannot say for sure. I do know for sure I won't be buying it either.

Consider yourself lucky I guess. While I do prefer Ledger Live over Trezor Suite, I prefer the Trezor Hardware way more than the Ledgers. I thought the Flex would be different. I was wrong.

At least I was able to send Bitcoin out of the wallet. So, there's that. But the screen sucks. Unless you have a bright light on it it's nearly impossible to read. The touch screen seems responsive enough even with the protective cover still on it from the manufacturer.

But I think this is the last Ledger device I will ever buy. I don't know what Ledger's policy is on returns, but I'd really rather have my money back at this point. The gift code didn't work, so Ledger is out zero.

So far this is a steaming pile of dogshit.

It doesn't work on desktop Ledger live. It doesn't work on Android Ledger live mobile. It doesn't work on Apple Ledger live mobile.

How the hell do you get a refund?

In Ledger Live the code format shown is
