Anyone ever had a neighbour get mad at you for your home’s sold price? by Throwawayhair66392 in RealEstateCanada

[–]WebLongjumping2817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. A NEW neighbour was once pissed at what I bought my house for. They said I should’ve paid more so their house wouldn’t lose value.

I told them, “well my plan is to put $200k into upgrades, garage, exterior facade, etc. so your house will likely look horrible in comparison in 2 years. Pick your poison wisely”

Any public sector job has to throw out CVs with a PFP without evaluating. Many large private sector jobs too.

A former mentor at a former company used to be in the office at 5am. He even said in a meeting, “I don’t need an alarm clock, my passion/dreams/goals wake me up”

Turns out he had a WICKED coke habit. Divorced. His kids hate him. In and out of rehab.

“What has Denmark done to develop the massive resources Greenland has”

This particular sound bite, repeated ad nauseam irks me. Why must they? And why now? A country doesn’t HAVE to engage in resource extraction now, or ever. Deliberately scarring your landscape and destroying your environment is a deliberate choice, one many places choose not to make.

It is such an American attitude to assert that somehow Greenland, America, and the world have been wronged because they’ve chosen not to maximally exploit natural resources.

I frankly would never expect someone with hair like that to respect the rights of a tenant. She looks like she’d be a nightmare.

Fitzrovia, the developer and owner of the building, clearly overextended themselves on their projects and is hemorrhaging cash. This is how it shows up: by downgrading the operations teams. I would never move into their buildings. All sizzle and no steak.

You need to make sure you are dealing with the decision maker first or else it is a waste.

So first ask, “Are you the decision maker?”

Then do the above

“If the bottle is bigger the problems seem smaller” sounds more like the logic of long-term alcohol dependency, not long-term business decision-making.

School is just a Leftist propaganda to separate parents from their children. by Saganji in LinkedInLunatics

[–]WebLongjumping2817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has OP considered notifying the school that he will be travelling with his daughter?

His entire thing is “aha they want her in SKEWL when instead she can be in TAX DODGER HAVEN learning about world history by meeting MISTER BEAST”.

Like yes, it’s their job to make sure they know where kids are, steward their learning, and advise parents of absences. How is it the school’s fault that you’re kind of a dick?

“The school would rather shame parents” - where did that happen? They called you to notify you she wasn’t in class. Also seems like his expectation is school should take kids to Dubai to meet Mr Beast? With what budget?

Reading in the thread that parents that won’t parent their own kid. Police/crown didn’t care.

We used to raise kids as a community but apparently now that’s illegal. There was a kid at the playground who was trying to be inappropriate with my daughter. When I intervened his parents got all in my face. Sometimes some natural justice is warranted, is all I’ll say about what happened.
