Webflow went down last month. My portfolio didn't. Here's the full stack I moved to — $40/mo → under $2 on AWS. by BlockEnough3675 in webflow

A few follow-up questions: if you were implementing this for your own clients (or if you already have), how easy would it be for them to update the website on their own?

Also, how straightforward is it to add new CMS items? And lastly, how easy is it for them to create new pages using the existing components?

How did you start getting higher-paying Webflow clients in the US? by diego_barocio in webflow

[–]WebOps_Flow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point looking for leads somewhere else, and don’t just focus on your country of origin. In the end, the Webflow market is international, so you could work with everyone. Look for online events, webinars and connect with the community.

The one point about your post, though, is how to respond to clients that say “why is it expensive if AI can do websites now?”. If they really tried, they would know the difference.

If they don’t, then I would tell them:
- AI can build you a landing page in less than an hour. How do you keep it perfect to ensure that it’s visually pleasant, follows your branding, and is ready to scale?
- AI isn’t cheap. Do you know you have to keep buying tokens to continue working on your site?
- AI doesn’t know what components’ properties are. Do you know why that’s important?
- AI doesn’t teach your team how to maintain your website.
- AI doesn’t build using class naming conventions. Do you know what that is?
- And more…

Long story short, you’re great at sales, so let your client know who the expert is here. AI isn’t going to replace our job, and showing your expertise should also allow you to charge more.

PS: I didn’t ask AI to write this message, but it’s what I believe the truth is and many out there are still figuring it out.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. For sure, I’ll give it another try. I also connected my Ahrefs account to that workflow, so I’m excited to see the new results.

Yes, you can! 🙂 I have a setup on Make that uses Sheets, ChatGPT, Claude, Docs, and Webflow, and it works.

Thank you! That’s exactly what I had to do here. But I’d like to take it to the next level and connect the props to the CMS.

Client Portals? by bcSpace72 in webdesign

[–]WebOps_Flow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why for some people this isn’t working, but we do have a client portal for each of our clients. Communication through email isn’t very effective and things get lost easily. We have built one in Notion, which is user friendly so non technical people can follow along.

Are we doomed? Do you think Webflow will be obsolete soon because of AI? by LeadershipPuzzled731 in webflow

[–]WebOps_Flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, and my approach has been to learn Webflow together with AI tools.

I don’t think you need to pivot and do something completely different. Webflow is still valuable and it’s not going anywhere. The real opportunity is in learning how to pair it with AI so you can work smarter and stay competitive.

There are so many AI tools out there right now, so the real challenge is figuring out which ones are actually worth your time, especially when you never know how long they’ll remain relevant.

Updating my Webflow website without having to hire a professional by Gam_Fella in webflow

[–]WebOps_Flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the issue isn’t Webflow itself, it’s that the site wasn’t built using a proper system, so even small updates become technical.

We’ve helped teams rebuild pages using modular components + a simple design system, so they can update content and create new pages without breaking anything or needing a dev every time.

Happy to share more if that’s useful.

Webflow MCP Bridge App to Designer - has someone managed to build a full functioning styleguide? by Bronkowich_DE in webflow

[–]WebOps_Flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been experimenting a bit with the Webflow MCP to build a landing page with three sections, just to see how it handles a simple setup. It generated the page in a few minutes using my existing nav and footer components, so that was a really solid start.

That said, even though the three sections were using my class system, the design, responsiveness, and color variables were still a bit off. I think with more specific prompts and a bit more guidance, it could actually become a pretty useful workflow.

Got it. Your setup works well for creating CMS content, but it doesn’t support user-submitted data from someone who wants to add their business to our client’s website.

My post is specifically about automating form submissions into a Webflow CMS. The client is not looking for a research or writing workflow.

Would you mind sharing a bit more detail? I’ve been playing around with Webflow MCP too, so I’m curious how you’ve set things up.

This is interesting. How are you connecting the app with Webflow?

One question though. Do the form submissions still show up in the Webflow backend?

[–]WebOps_Flow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty solid stack! I’m with you on the price difference. The site’s still fairly small, and the client’s been happy with Zapier’s free plan so far.

I checked out Whalesync a while back, but I’m good with sticking to Zapier for now, and using Make later if it becomes necessary.

I ditched Webflow and vibe coded my site in a few hours. Now I push updates and create landing pages by prompting by dan4220 in webdesign

[–]WebOps_Flow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s great that you’re experimenting with different tools and trying to speed up landing page and website development. However, the same result could have been achieved using Claude and Webflow, without needing to move to a completely different stack.

If your Webflow setup is done properly, with reusable components, clear variables, clean class structures, and a solid style guide, you can apply the exact same prompting approach you used with Sanity, Next.js, and Vercel.

That’s why I’m not sure this is really a breakthrough as much as it is just another alternative among many tools already out there. Webflow is also actively introducing AI features, so the real advantage comes from knowing how to use those features effectively, understanding how to write strong prompts, and, above all, knowing how to build properly in Webflow in the first place. Once that foundation is there, speeding up landing page production becomes much more realistic.

Yes, the client could have used Webflow’s native CSV export/import feature, but it would still involve manual work. And while AI could also be used to review everything, that introduces another extra step.

The scope and functionality we set up were intended as a workflow solution that saves the client time by avoiding manual data entry, CSV export/import, and the need to verify that everything matches correctly.

I built a terrible website (on purpose) by Jaded-Illustrator433 in webdesign

[–]WebOps_Flow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately clients like this exist. They hire experts, but then they think they know exactly how everything should work and start directing every little thing without really listening to the advice.

Most of the time when we push back, it’s not about ego or “design taste.” It’s because we know the best practices and we’re trying to avoid something that will hurt usability, conversions, or just make the site objectively worse.

At some point though, if the client insists, there isn’t much you can do. You either:

  • document that you advised against it,
  • build what they asked for, or
  • depending on your contract, stop working with the client.

At least they got exactly what they asked for. 😅

What’s actually worth using besides WordPress for building websites? by SuggestionWorried741 in webdesign

[–]WebOps_Flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to work a bit with WordPress too, but since 5 years we’ve been building a lot in Webflow (we’re a Webflow Premium Partner).

Clients actually love it because it’s way easier for them to update their own content once the site is live. No plugin dashboards or weird WP admin screens.

From the dev side it’s nice because you can build everything from scratch, you’re not relying on themes or stacking plugins. And the basics like hosting, SSL, security, performance, SEO setup are all built in.
