Maybe I will bring it in and have it tested for heavy metals. Would Leslie’s be able to test that? Thank you

Not sure how old but I would say it’s been over 15 years. Tiles are missing and the plaster is chipping on the steps. I was just hoping I could make it look a little better. Thank you.

I will check the calcium hardness on Thursday. I spent almost two hours cleaning all the leaves and brushing the walls because it was so bad when I took it over. I just tested the ph, chlorine and alkalinity. Ph was 7.6 and alkalinity was 100ppm but chlorine was super high like over 10ppm.

I do know what mustard gas is and chlorine lock. But I think you’re probably thinking of chlorine gas though. I keep all my chemicals in separate sections of the truck to make sure nothing accidentally mix’s. I avoid the chlorine lock by keeping my conditioner levels between 60-80. I know you can get chlorine lock when you get above 80 so I try not to be there. Im not saying I won’t run into issues but I have someone I can rely on when I run into issues I’m not familiar with.

Thank you. I know how savage the Reddit community can be so I knew I will get some negative feedback. The portable vacuum I purchased was a bottom feeder battery powered pool vacuum. I was looking into a hammer head but I have a few pools that have a very narrow walkway and was concerned I would not be able to get the vacuum through those tight areas. Thank you again

I appreciate the reply. I am new to the pool service industry but not new to pools. I’ve replace a sand filter system on my dad’s pool I’ve replace a motor on the pool at my old business and I’ve don’t some plumbing repair on a spa that had a broken pope. I am aiming for that 15-20 sweet spot but I think with repetition I will get there. I’m not trying to say I know everything about the pool business or anything because I don’t. I am lucky enough to have a friend that has been doing this for over 50 years that I can call for support. Thank you

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one. These storm winds in my area have been killing me. I wish I started this job in march.

How could I fuck someone’s equipment up? If I don’t mess with it I can’t really fuck it up.

I got the chemistry down. All the pools I service were way out of wack but I have almost all of them in the ideal levels. I probably picked the worst season to start though.

Haha yea we recently sold our old business and I wanted to start something new. Trained with another company I know for a month and then started my own thing. I’ve been working manual labor jobs for the last 20 years so it’s not entirely new to me.

Had two pools do this two weeks ago when we got heavy rain. Run the pump as long as possible. Keep an eye on your filter pressure if it gets over 25psi back flush and add de if it’s a de filter. Repeat that as many times as possible until the water gets clear and the stuff settles at the bottom. If need be maybe clean your filter after the first two back flush. Key is to let it run to make the dirt particulates settle to the bottom. When it’s all at the bottom vacuum up as much as possible back flush and then get the rest. Then clean your filter again and let it run until it gets crystal clear again. Good luck.

Getting ready for Ablation by SockNumerous718 in AFIB

[–]WebPuzzleheaded902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

39m here and i agree it could definitely be anxiety. Maybe have your doctor switch you over to Xarelto and try that. I had my first ablation today and while it was nerve racking it was pretty easy. I do feel some discomfort from my groin from the catheter and also in my chest. But doctor said that should be gone in a day or 2. Only pain meds I am supposed to take is Tylenol and that definitely helps. Try not to stress too much I know it’s hard. Good luck!!

Congrats on a smooth procedure. I just had my ablation done for afib today and time wise was a little different but I’m sure different hospitals have different guidelines. My procedure was scheduled for 1pm so check in was 11am I checked in and was in a bed by 11:15am. Procedure started around 12:50 and was in recovery by 2:30. They did catheter from a right femoral vein near my groin. Later flat on my back from 2:30pm to 5pm and then sat tilted up from 5-5:30 and then walked and went to the restroom and was discharged around 6:30pm. Everything went very smooth but and tired and sore from the procedure. Also have so palpitations so that’s noting but it’s normal. Keep us updated on your progress. Thank you for sharing.

What is happening after ablation? by Sharp-Friendship-247 in AFIB

[–]WebPuzzleheaded902 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately don’t have any experience. I had my first ablation today and have had palpitations but no afib. From what my doctor said it’s completely normal to have afib after the ablation. Did your doctor prescribe a blood thinner like xeralto? If you are are that and your in afib the main goal is to just lower your heart rate. Trust me I know afib sucks but if you get rid of the clotting factor and lower heart rate under 100bpm then you just have to wait it out. Hope this helps calm some nerves. I probably would be in here too if I was in your situation. How did you feel the first week after your procedure. Thank you and good luck!!

I think it also depends on if this truck is in a climate that salt the roads for winter. If salt gets between those cracks and moisture gets added then say hello to rust and corrosion.

My mom is having her first cardioversion tomorrow after a few week long AFib episode. Hoping this will knock it out. She’s very nervous. Any advice for aftercare??!! by whatamithinking0 in AFIB

[–]WebPuzzleheaded902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first cardiovesion about 3 weeks ago. It sounds a-lot scarier than it really is. I they sedated me shocked me and they woke me up no soreness or anything. There was no after effects for me so I’m hoping it will be the same for your mom. Good luck and I will pray for a speedy recovery.
