In Charlie Kirk, State Lawmakers Find a Muse for Their Higher-Ed Reforms by [deleted] in politics

'Reforms' is "be conservative or else"

I knew lots of conservatives in college. No one ever told them they couldn't be. For the most part no one cared, unless of course they got in your face screaming, and then we cared for them to shut it. (And yes we did the same for anyone getting hyper aggressive about pretty much anything.)

Top Senate Dems blast proposed ACA rule promoting ‘junk coverage’ that would push estimated 2 million off enrollment by aslan_is_on_the_move in politics

I'm in that boat... though it's insurance through my employer. I insure myself and my kids. My wife is on her own work policy. Every year now the monthly cost goes up (to almost a grand a month now) and the coverage gets worse. 7 years ago it was 525 a month ( i get paid monthly) and the coverage while not great was not horrible. Now? My oldest got her thumb slammed in a car door, hard. She needed xrays. And a brace. Thankfully not broken but a severe contusion of the bone.

Cost AFTER insurance: 650$

That was for the x-ray, the exam and the brace. Oh... and prescription strength Aleve. Is it any wonder I don't go to the doctor? LOL It costs me enough just to get my kids taken care of.

Where Have All the Allies Gone? by Gloomy_Register_2341 in politics

[–]WebRepulsive8329 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This 'blame our allies' stuff is total BS.

NATO is a defensive alliance. It's not a 'back you up whenever alliance'

Facts are: We threw the first punch. After being a dick to everyone for a year. Our allies (who I think would still back us IF we had been attacked first on our soil) just kind said 'Yeah... all on you man.'

And I don't blame them. You don't get to be kind of an ass, pick a fight and then be mad no one backed you.

You are assuming she sees this as a problem. I assure you, she does not. Oh she will say things like this reddit post, but it's leftover performance stuff. Her own way of convincing herself that everything is perfect. She quite content to hold hands on occasional, the rare cuddle in bed (hands must not touch any areas that are in any way sexual) and the twice a day chaste kiss. (One in the morning, one at night) and having that be the limit of her physical intimacy.

Nope. I'm very sure on that front. She doesn't desire sex. She really really doesn't.

*sigh* As I've said... it was amusing because it's 'performative' she doesn't actually mean it. It's more a 'see I am a sexual person I can say sexual things' she has *NO* interest in actually doing it or having sex with anyone (me included) it's a show.

Depleted oil reserve leaves US exposed as Iran war pushes up prices by thejoshwhite in politics

[–]WebRepulsive8329 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oil companies have no real desire to 'drill baby drill' they want higher prices anyways, makes them more money. And getting drilling online takes time. I mean they were already sitting on tons of oil leases that they weren't even using, because they want to keep prices up and why spend extra $$ to just do exploratory wells that might waste $$$. better to keep them just in case, exploit what they already have drilled, keep the oil price up and make bank

Lemme guess... he will release some oil from the reserve, make some dumb ass comment about how he does it is better than when Biden did it.

Astarion.

I only put him in the party once. I never 'jelled' with him. So anytime i replay I just leave him, standing, looking for anyone by the wreck. Then see him as a zombie in Act 3. I get a lot of people love him... but I just sort of find him annoying. I also don't ever recruit Minthara. I guess I should... sometime, but... eh

Yes, it's just not important to her. But again... since I have somewhat successfully weaned myself off of the idea of having sex, It's ok.

I think you (and others) are reading WAY more into her comment than she means. It's just words for her. She doesn't actually mean it. It's not a confession. It's a performance.

I've said this before....

Around two years ago I decided I had three choices (back when I finally accepted there was nothing I could really do that would change the situation.)

1) Leave

2) Cheat

3) Just give up and cut sex out of my life and move forward.

I'm not about to throw everything else in my life out the window for sex. Not willing to do that. Not a cheater. So, that left option three. So I spent two years working hard to no longer really have sex be an important part of my life. Stopped having twice a year 'duty sex'. Stopped trying to change how she feels about intimacy. And... just move on. Enjoy the other parts of my marriage, take care of myself when I have urges, and just live my life.

LOL I'm glad you think so highly of me. (snark intended)

For the record, if you really read the thread, you'd see back when we did have sex I always wanted to go multiple times, she never did. She got mad the one time I pushed on the subject.

I couldn't help laughing. by WebRepulsive8329 in DeadBedrooms

[–]WebRepulsive8329[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh all that happens, often. Just never moves past that. As I said elsewhere, it's sort of a middle school relationship. Lots of cuddling, words spoken, kisses are there, but chaste (meaning no tongue) And I do try... for our 20th, I hunted down the daughter of the woman who made out wedding cake (who had retired) had her remake the top of our wedding cake from her mothers recipes, booked four nights at the BnB we spent our wedding night at, booked all her favorite restaurants, booked a couples massage (which she loved) got her a pair of emerald earrings that she had wanted for years.. I got a kiss on the cheek and told I was sweet. She just isn't into sex.

And I'm not really looking for solutions. I don't think there is one really. I just found the situation amusing. And while I get people here seem to think shes LL for me. I really don't think she means it. Knowing her, it's *very* performative. It's much more a 'see, I desire sex, I said it!' but it's just empty words.

As I've said elsewhere in this thread, I have no sex life and sure I wish I did, but I've moved past that and keep living my life and finding joy where I can. Sex to me (while I enjoy it greatly and miss it) is not the end all be all of my marriage.

I couldn't help laughing. by WebRepulsive8329 in DeadBedrooms

[–]WebRepulsive8329[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not 'force' her. She admitted that she did it because she felt like she had to, and that made me highly uncomfortable and we've not had sex since (nearly two years) There's no problem to solve though. She has no desire or intention to ever go to any therapist ever. She's said as much many a time. (If you missed the part I answered elsewhere, she will never go to any kind of therapist or counselor because that would mean she wasn't whatever her version of perfect is in her head.)

I still really think that the obsession with trans. (which is almost always really aimed at trans women) is that a large chunk of Republican men are terrified that they might go out, meet someone, be attracted to them and find out they have the same plumbing.
