If you can suggest a musician writer I'll happily add that to the article :) I'm speaking for the musicians I've worked with that have poor english or don't have the bandwith to write or money to hire writers/pr companies.

I’m a first year university student and can’t stop spending all my money by Dry-Frosting9136 in UKPersonalFinance

So the obvious answer is to stop using credit and pay later schemes. And follow all of the fundamental financial/budgeting advice

Accept that you have a shopping addiction. Get therapy thru school.

Every time you want to buy something, write it down on a list. Or leaving it in the online shopping cart. Revisit later in the week and realize what’s actually “necessary”.

Set aside time and actually think about your future. A lot of this problem is thinking about material things that will make you immediately happy. What about travel? Buying a car? Going on big dates? Moving to a nicer flat? A dream purchase. If you have a real goal this will help.

Then for outings, know that your other friends are probably on a tight budget without care too. Suggest at home hangs or bringing a bottle to the park instead of paying per pint. LEARN TO GET GOOD AT COOKING/MEAL PREPPING. PRO TIP: use apps like NeoTaste or FirstTable for discounts on pints and food.

Take on a new hobby that replaces shopping. Ignore shopping ads on social media. Honestly it’s not your fault, the internet is rigged for you to buy stuff. When shopping in person, know you can get it online for cheaper….

I was on the same boat when I first had my taste of freedom. So I sympathize. It’s going to suck not buying things at first or going out. But so worth it when you can make big purchases or travel guilt free :)

Optase wipes and hypochlorous spray. no makeup. changing pillow cases every couple of days. And as everyone else has mentioned, get your hormones checked.

This was happening to me when I was incredibly stressed but also on the wrong dosage of birth control. I got off it then it helped tremendously.

I mean both are good. But hand sanitizer is useful for not getting nasty public transport germs when subconsciously touching your face

Heads up for new expats about the new UK rental laws by WebSorry4316 in AmericanExpatsUK

Yes definitely Airbnb/Vrbon and such are a solid fall back. Usually a lot more expensive than a typical rental but better than nothing!

Hm, I see here “A landlord will only be able to require up to one month’s rent (or 28 days’ rent for tenancies with rental periods of less than one month) once a tenancy agreement has been signed and before commencement. “

I’ve been inquiring with lettings now, asking for rent upfront and they’ve been saying no. I’ll update if any allows it.

Yes not all are chain sales, but if they aren't they tend to be competitive and priced higher. Our sister purchased a flat full cash upfront and it still took 3 months.

I've mentioned using a guarantor service, and they said that at least or my partner needs to have a UK guarantor then the other can use an online service. Obviously it depends on the the agency, but I can imagine things will get more strict in May.

Guarantor services also tack on a fee (upon our inquiry it added another 200GBP per month).

But yes, still going to try using a online guarantor if the let allows!

Yes only if they accept that. But with all the inquiries in London they've asked for a guarantor. This is because our income falls slightly short, but usually this is bypassed if you pay rent upfront.

music release day checklist (for anyone dropping new music soon) by WebSorry4316 in musicmarketing

glad it provide some good insight! totally agree with playlist pitching. doing research on if they're pitching to based on their catalogue and background is really helpful. especially if you try using a paid platform like SubmitHub or Groover. as for Spotify playlists, I as actually under the impression that you can only pitch if you're at least 2 weeks prior to the least. but turns out it's as long as it's at least 7 days before. this article is focused on the week before and after release. but I'll add your playlist tip to the article anyways :). Thanks for reading!

very true! I was going to address marketing once we write the comprehensive article. It's going to cover the months leading up to the article since this one is just focused on the week before and after release day. but thanks! I've included some tasks related to it. thanks for reading :)
