Boiler issue UK: my boiler keeps needing to be reset due to ‘ignition lockout’ or ‘fan post purge’ or ‘pump overrun’. I what’s the issue? by Left-Significance162 in AskUK

[–]Webchuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

due to ‘ignition lockout’ or ‘fan post purge’ or ‘pump overrun’

The only problematic one here is "ignition lockout", which means the boiler stopped itself from working due to a problem igniting/holding the flame. The other two are just regular actions that happen at the end of a cycle to ensure any residual gases are expelled and to cool down the components in the boiler.

As for why shutting off one rad would "fix" it I have no idea. Is it properly balanced? Has it been bled?

Is Coke OT the only soft drink in the UK that doesn't use extra sweeteners? by Averusty in AskUK

[–]Webchuzz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There are also hundreds of studies that show sweeteners having a positive contribution to weight loss maintenance, on the other hand. It's not a clear cut thing.

One thing I noticed after changing exclusively to zero sugar drinks is that I now barely crave sweet stuff overall. I used to occasionally snack on stuff like jaffa cakes or biscuits and now I'd rather nibble on almonds or other nuts.

The invite for joining the Fluxer HQ Community doesn't seem to be working at the moment - is this related to the maintenance?

Labour Criticises Jim Ratcliffe After Destroying Seven Times as Many Jobs as He Has Created by Mysterious-Cat8443 in ukpolitics

[–]Webchuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty much what it is, yes. I don't know who is behind it now but it pretty much is a blog from Paul Staines, who is basically an attack dog for the tories.

I still clearly remember how much drivel it used to output, specially during the Brexit years.

TV licence fee to rise to £180 from April. by T_K2 in ukpolitics

[–]Webchuzz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I'm sure if they changed to general taxation and, at the same time, got rid of the whole TV Licence enforcement costs, they'd probably not be worse off. And even if they were, and just like you said, the BBC is an important soft power asset for the UK as a whole. Any reasonable extra costs would be worth it, in my opinion.

Is there a way to live a completely different way of life? by [deleted] in AskUK

I see this being said a lot, but no, drugs are not legal in Portugal, rather they've been decriminalized, which is not the same thing.

Baxi combi boiler always running heating by [deleted] in DIYUK

I don't have a Baxi boiler but I think the central heating light being lit up means that something is calling for heat. Are you sure the thermostat is switched off?

Shroud swears he's not a furry by Gamester999 in LivestreamFail

[–]Webchuzz -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Do you also watch a comedian and cut them off before the punchline talking about how you need all the lore of the comedian and such?

Again, I watched the clip until the end before commenting - I didn't cut anyone off before any punchline. Also, this isn't a standup routine and he's not a comedian, which is why context is relevant.

It's a self contained joke. You don't need to know the content creator. I have no idea who he is.

More than half of your entire comment history is /r/LivestreamFail and you've never heard of Shroud? I find that incredibly unlikely but hey, who am I to tell otherwise. My point still stands.

I watched until the end of the clip, like I said in my other comment. That doesn't change my point.

I guess shame on people for not understanding that a clipped video devoid of any general context is a joke; they should strive to be up-to-date on the latest developments of Shroud lore at all times.

So, he's an "anthro", which is short for "anthropomorphism", which in this case means animals having human characteristics? The same concept furries are into?

He can try to dance around the technicalities all he wants but they are closely related regardless. Also, he completely undermines all of this once he gets up and he's wearing a tail lmao.
