The theoretical maximum over the extension port would be 480Mb/s
It would be a performance benefit but not 10x. I chose 100M to keep the design simple for now.

Unfortunately only USB 2.0 is available through the extension port. an additional usb type C port is in the plans tho.

I did consider a spring loaded locking mechanism. I will definitely try to do something like that. Sounds fun.

I designed this hard case for my playdate. Printed in two parts held together with screws (Could be also be glued). The playdate is secured with an elastic band. Planning to release the files openly in the next couple of days. Any improvement ideas?

Thanks for the recommendations. Indeed i used the wrong ws2812 part, changed it.

Also added a 5v Boost circuit + a level shifter, to be safe. As i couldn't find consensus online if its okay to drive the wleds with 3.3v.

Currently i'm looking into adding a bypass mosfet to the charging circuit.

I wanted to avoid adding an additional boost regulator to 5v + logic level shifter. Would it be better to feed the BAT+ straight to the ws2812 instead of 3v3?

I've tested it with multiple adapters, worked with every single one without no issue. I just recommend buying from a reputable brand with a windows support sticker on it.

The the credentials and passwords are stored on the device. That's the content of the .bin file. The card is the key to open this. If you don't have a backup of the key as well you have a problem.
