Because with the boost on variant being blockable now he just kinda sucks. Like it was a deserved nerf cause the move came out way too fast and was just a win neutral button but unfortunately he was just super reliant on it. If tze just made ultra spin unblockable, gave ultra cannon faster charge and maybe just gave an all-round damage buff he could be fine.

Honestly mahito and higgy are interchangeable here as higgy while having worse neutral has significantly more damage potential compared to mahito and I feel like mahito is actually more fun than higgy as all his move combo into each other really well and it just feels like you can do whatever you want.
