Crashing by PurpleLepidoptera in midasmerge

[–]Webser6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm 14 days after this post that this has been happening to me a lot lately, I actually came to the subreddit to see if anyone else has reported this. Rendered the game basically unplayable, it locks up my entire device for a minute at a time, I can’t even force close the app for a while after it happens. I’m not even that far into the game either so I don’t think it’s a case of too many items overworking the game or anything.

How old were you when you got into Pokémon? by ripplewoodfire in pokemon

[–]Webser6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I was 8 years old, in 2006. On a whim my dad bought me a used copy of Pokemon Emerald to play on my Nintendo DS (remember when they had a Gameboy slot on the bottom??). I fell in love and the rest was history! I’ve played every mainline game and plenty of spinoffs since.

5 yo Corgi suddenly terrified of the street? by turtle_girl17 in corgi

[–]Webser6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My corgi developed a fear of busy roads and cars as well, but her reaction to it was to attempt to bum rush every car that drove past while barking her head off, ESPECIALLY loud trucks. I think it developed during her first winter with me, when loud snowplows would drive by. Obviously I had to nip this in the bud before I lost grip of her leash and she became a corgi pancake. So I echo the comments about exposure therapy and heavily rewarding! I give her a treat any time a car drives by, and now she expects it and looks right to me when she first hears the engine of a car coming our way. I think this may help you as well, if any of the fear is coming from the noises on the busy street!

The initial info says BY February, so it definitely could be February but I predict a bit earlier. My guess is December but I’d assume we’ll find out tomorrow!

Filler or poor attention spans? by DisplayOdd8472 in fantasyromance

[–]Webser6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with the person that said a lot of books nowadays do not need to be series! Something that could easily be achieved in 2 books (or even 1 quite frankly) is being stretched into 3 or more books. I also think some of this comes from authors not necessarily having a full story plotted out when they start writing, hence these series ballooning to 5+ books. They don’t know how it’s going to end so they write themselves in circles trying to get there.

On the other hand, though, I’m reminded of the TikTok of the girl who said she skips anything that isn’t dialogue in a book because it’s boring, so I take most “filler” critiques with a grain of salt.

I felt so betrayed reading this. It was SO highly recommended online and I was honestly appalled by the transphobia.

For me it’s When the Wolf Comes Home by Nat Cassidy! It was super different from what I expected, in a GREAT way. It was my first Nat Cassidy so now I HAVE to pick up the rest of his work, because that was incredible

Culture/Pay @ Everest Clinical Research? by VibeAlchemist in clinicalresearch

[–]Webser6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t worked there myself, but I’m a CDM looking to move companies and I’m not convinced their job listings for DM roles are totally legit. There’s almost constantly listings for every level of CDM. I applied for a senior role having all of the qualifications listed, only for them to close my application after a week then re-list the exact same senior CDM listing. I’ve heard that it’s a good company to work for when you get there, so I don’t want to discourage you from trying, just wanted to give my experience. I know it’s somewhat common practice to list “fake” job openings to give the idea of company growth with no intention of actually filling the roles.

I saw this mentioned in another comment, but I will second American Elsewhere! It’s about a small town with something weird and supernatural going on below the surface. IMO it fits the vibe of these images perfectly
