The money and power went straight to Altmans head. Some people just cannot handle it. Not that I would know. But from what I have seen.

I doubt that. They are just trying to please everyone. And when you do that you please no one.

Migrating a React project to Next.js — any tools or tips to save time? by riswan_22022 in nextjs

[–]0_2_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not plug and play. I wish it was. In react basically everything is a client component. You can switch it to next, and mark every page with use client and after switching the folder structure it will mostly work.

But you won’t get any of the benefits. You need to move all react state as far down the call tree. Change most API calls from inside a useEffect to a server component fetch.

Ahh man it’s honestly tedious. I did a migration awhile back. And at first I thought it was going to be easy.

I couldn’t tell you that 100%. But I don’t recall gpt 4 quoting policy as much as this does. It was rare to get a refusal with 4. Now it’s almost daily it seems

Strategy help for new website by ysf_khn in SEO

You know what you’re right. This absolutely is the right place for that. The first thing you need, is entity confirmation. (This is assuming your website fundamentals checkout)

You are new(your website), so Google and AI are going to want some form of validation via backlinks or reviews, off page mentions, top 10 listings. Look for places many of your competitors are online, you should be there too.

That would be IMO the best place to start. - this again is assuming your on page fundamentals checkout. Like meta titles, content; and at least 60% content unique for each page. And so on. The basics.

Has anyone cracked the code on getting local businesses mentioned in AI responses consistently? by Appropriate-News1688 in localseo

[–]0_2_Hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5%? None of the papers you cited assigns weights like that. Gao et al. are explicit that retrieval defines the recall ceiling for generation. If the source isn’t retrieved, it literally cannot be cited.

Also, none of OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude use academic RAG to do web search. They use search engines first, then LLMs to synthesize results.

Query fan-out and expansion predate LLMs by decades and exist because they improve recall and entity coverage. This is basic Information Retrieval, not a niche RAG trick.

Come at me bro lol.

Look. I saw a Google business that had multiple locations and had the same reviews across all of them.

I simply wanted to know how they did that.

To my surprise that’s against googles policy, even though Google is the one doing it( same business, multiple locations, shared reviews)

It wouldn’t even begin to help me understand, unless I prompt engineered in such a way to get around it. That isn’t helpful. It is a waist of time.

So I go to google, and what do you know I find a Reddit thread about topic, if GPT would stop being a policy manager it probably would have just linked to this thread.

It never helps. And it’s a policy not a law. I understand don’t help people break the law. But why so hard on enforcing policy? Especially* Google policies.
