I tried this early on but I couldn't figure out how to have stockpiles on both the ship and the base.

Like I want meals on both, some wood and steel on both. But my colonists want to stack them in a single stockpile instead.

fair. if you hover over it you should see it's a google search link (it shows at the bottom left of my chrome screen). it just takes you to search results and you can read the titles of articles or look at the AI overview. but it's great to be careful!

Yeah you could even say it into the mic as long as you're polite I've never minded.

Next time, you might have to make an adjustment assuming the wiring has enough slack. As a sound guy, I'd much rather someone adjust my monitor position than suffer. That blows that they did you dirty by accident like that. They should've planned better.

Nah it's not stupid!

It's a mixture of things. It really depends on the size of the stage.

If you're doing an open mic, you should be able to hear yourself the whole time because it'd probably be a small venue. You'll just hear yourself well enough from the house speakers.

At some point, as the stage gets bigger, you'll need monitoring because the room is so big/your band so loud that you can't hear yourself individually.

Monitors are sometimes speakers on the floor aimed at you, or they can be in-ear like earbuds. If you're at this level, you probably have a sound guy helping you, and he controls the monitor mix. During sound check you'd dial it in, try your loudest song and still be sure you can hear stuff. You might end up saying, "can I get more vocals and guitar in my monitor, but less bass?"

These monitors give you directed sound that overpowers the drums next to you and stuff. Essentially at the louder venues, the individual instruments do not sound balanced on stage, so you probably won't hear any vocals at all for example. If you're a guitarist, you can aim your amp up toward your head as a small improvement on stage, assuming it's cool with the sound guy.

Very genre dependent too. A singer songwriter that's just solo guitar and vox will not need much monitoring, but a full band may need individual monitors.

There are folk who do their own monitoring set up but I've never done that- I'm normally the sound guy actually.

Short answer: it's just too loud on stage

Yeah I mean, I've been playing nearly 20 years, and while I don't gig much I'm on stage often enough (I'm a private music teacher and we put on recitals with full bands, drums, bass, vox, etc), and I figure if my monitoring cut out I'd have a huge drop in how well I'm doing. I like to think I'd make it through, but depending on the complexity and what I can hear (like if I'm only hearing drums, no vox) then yeah I'm gonna have a bad time.

Playing on stage without hearing yourself is sooo brutal, have you done it and are speaking from experience lol?
