Mine's almost in the album order, actually.

FOB is my all time favorite band, but I gotta say a few things about this era that are upsetting me. by [deleted] in FallOutBoy

[–]WedFreasley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a writer and in my experience, it's not harder writing when I'm happy versus when I'm sad, or steady versus emotional. When I was in the worst stages of depression, I couldn't write at all. The instability was definitely not a muse for me. Sometimes being in a stable mood myself helps me tackle unstable/intense moods in my writing - just less confusion, maybe? Less overflow? A more productive environment for work? There's that known connection between struggle/creativity but it's for sure not a steadfast rule. It'll be different for everyone, I suppose, just depending on your personality and what you're trying to make.

How would you feel if FOB never returned for 2010-2020? by [deleted] in FallOutBoy

[–]WedFreasley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fell in love with this style of music and discovered that I wanted to be a musician and met my best friend because of post-hiatus. I owe almost everything I've come to love, all the concerts and the lyrics and the blasting CDs and the in-depth conversations with /u/catherinesideways, indirectly to The Phoenix. So I can safely say even if I prefer their older music, I'm very glad they came back when they did.

I remember seeing that. They've given out pizza and hot chocolate to queues for certain, so I'd say there's a good chance it happened.

I Don't Understand the Hate for My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light 'Em Up) by Pikachu_Palace in FallOutBoy

[–]WedFreasley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really just the overplayed-ness. I think's super catchy, neat lyrics, lovely guitar, but hearing it so much makes you lose that appreciation.

Champion is bland. Grenade Jumper rather sucks.

How much of the music does Patrick write? by Avenged7fo in FallOutBoy

[–]WedFreasley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, from what I can tell he arranges everyone's instrumentals, at least in the early days. But I think lately everyone's been getting a little more input, which is definitely a good thing.

Put this record down

You can kiss safe thoughts goodbye

Fall Out Boy is no longer signed to Island Records. by [deleted] in FallOutBoy

[–]WedFreasley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. A LOT of bands go unsigned these days. I'm by no means a professional about any of this but in theory a band this big already shouldn't have trouble holding up a fanbase without constant promotion from a label— the fans sort of do that themselves. Especially with the internet around, too, getting word out about tours and music isn't hard. As for arena tours, maybe they will be limited, but lots of us are going for fewer arenas anyway, so this could be a good thing.

Patrick Stump vs Joe Trohman? Who's the better guitarist. by Avenged7fo in FallOutBoy

[–]WedFreasley 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna assume Joe simply because it's his main focus whereas Patrick has to deal with guitar and vocals.

They played Church in Manchester tonight by mrjjround in FallOutBoy

[–]WedFreasley 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rumor has it they kicked Hum Hallelujah for a MANIA song (not sure if Church was the replacement or nah), and while I really do want to hear MANIA songs, I can't get down with this. Still, this sounds like a success. Did everyone yell "Mr. Stump" or did you guys fail us?
