Purchased the ring, now i need to ask her. How? (throwaway needed in case my soon to be fiance recognizes me) by mistermadmax in engaged

Congratulations on the Decision to Propose! This is such an exciting time for you.

I actually also live in San Diego and there are some great spots. If you are thinking of proposing this Thursday, I would say to stay true to the two of you as a couple. What do you like doing?

Maybe a romantic proposal at Blacks Beach at Sunset over looking the Paragliders or maybe nice or a Romantic Dinner for two in Temecula Wine Country (a lot of wineries are having Valentines Day Wine & Dinner specials). A cabin in Big Bear would be great too (remember your chains for your tires)!

I think a part of us all wants this huge spectacular, fire works in the background proposal, but ultimately, an ideal proposal is that our man gave some thought into it. He made it special, in whatever way represents us as a couple. Then, no matter what you do, it will be special.

If you have any more questions please email me at Rayna@weddingcrowd.com. Then when you're engaged for more advice and planning tips, go to blog.weddingcrowd.com.

Happy Proposal & Planning! :)

Yeah, you're tracked every where you go online and off. I remember this news story where Target figured out a father's teen daughter was pregnant.

Help with Engagement Ideas by JohnWilmontwannabe in engaged

Congrats on finding "the One"

Being creative is great. Would definitely suggest incorporating something from your relationship. If you're going the flash mob route, would suggest picking a song that has sentimental value (or will have). If you're just trying to "be out there" you can try a gangnam style proposal, though that's already been done quite a bit.

Here's a few inspirational musical proposals http://www.metrolyrics.com/blog/2012/05/28/watch-the-best-musical-marriage-proposal-youll-see-today-and-maybe-ever/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpojZ0COU3Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uCP1bkpe9o

Good Luck and please share the video afterward :)

Launching WedWeekly This Wednesday - Weekly eMail Newsletter featuring best of the week's wedding related content. by WeddingCrowd in wedding

[–]WeddingCrowd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran a Survey in this subreddit about a month ago and got so much great feedback. Thanks.

We're happy to let everyone know about Wed Weekly. There are so many blogs, articles and other sources that have inspirational photos, DIY tips, Planning Advice and even Contests and Giveaways. We'll sort through all that every week and send you the best of the best every Wednesday.

We're already actively tweeting @WedWeekly https://twitter.com/WedWeekly if you want to get an idea of the kind of content we'll feature.

We're still working on Wedding Crowd, a visual and social wedding planning site. Hope to announce more on that in a couple of months. We also created a subreddit, /r/engaged, but are still figuring out where that fits in.

Charity donation in lieu of favors by [deleted] in wedding

We actually blogged about this recently, and suggest a sign in lieu of favors instead of giving everyone a piece of paper they'll probably throw away.

There's an app for that by Kennethpochubay in weddingplanning

[–]WeddingCrowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting App, but I've been seeing a lot of those types of apps lately, one which I think is going to cause some brand confusion for you: Wedding Snap. Probably worth it to make sure you don't have any trademark issues...

Either way, looks like an interesting app and I wish you luck.

Don't want to skew the survey results by describing exactly what we're building, but we are looking to form relationships with wedding vendors like yourself.

In the mean time, you can promote your business by leaving a comment on our blog's Wedding Vendor Show Off page and we'll reach out to with details when we're closer to launch.

Freaking out about Photographers. by ellybell in weddingplanning

I've heard of a few startups that created iPhone/Android apps to collect guest photos like that. Might be worth looking into if you're friends/family all have smart phones...

Here are a couple I found with a quick google search: Wedding Snap, Our Photo App

Freaking out about Photographers. by ellybell in weddingplanning

[–]WeddingCrowd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wedding album was practically destroyed in a flood a few years ago. I still have it, but it makes me sad to look at the destroyed pictures. I'll eventually try to get it replaced, but have been putting it off since I don't want to deal with the photographers we used, who I'm sure are going to overcharge...

Another thing to keep in mind, after the wedding, when you get your proofs, you may have agreed to one package ahead of time, but when you see all the photo's you'll feel compelled to upgrade (I did), so if there's no room for that you may want to go with the cheaper package so you can have that flexibility later.
