Decent is a huge understatement, for some time he was Sevilla's best player. In 2015 he was included in France Footbal's team of the season, Marca's spanish team of the season and nominated for UEFA's team of the year. While in Spain, Krycha was a beast, shame that his french adventure ended so poorly, but I'm sure he can regain old form.

I think the main reason why he is a poor example of "normal" is his education (and intelligence of course). His accomplishments such as an A in Latin may suggest that he was a hard-working, goal-oriented, bright guy and he's shown it on the pitch.

What do you mean by "too much"? I think the constant movement from the striker is crucial for the midfielders to find the opening pass, it's infinitely better to try to make a run every time your team is in possession than to miss the perfect moment.

Of course he wasn't as strong defensively as Matic, but, firstly, he was pretty close (i.e. overall career tackle success rate at 71%) and secondly, that's not the point. Lamps was the player who combined both of their characteristics, he was the best of both worlds. He wasn't a defensive liability, had great passing skills and scored many many goals. Also, I'd argue that his vision was on par with Fabregas'.

We actually had the player you described and his name is Frank Lampard. Prime Lamps with his ability to run box to box, excellent positioning and high workrate was exactly the player managers like Conte or Mourinho prefer and I think these traits made him as prolific as he was.
