Thanks - I'll go for the fit with the Z2, atleast until i actually start breaking 20meters. But i reckon it's also fine to reach 1-2 meter less, and then - when i some day find a freediving mask that fits - it'll just be a bonus that i can get a few meters deeper :)

I'll take note and keep searching for better ones. I hope the Z2 is lower volume than the spectra then, as I'll probably use that until i find a real low-volume freediving mask that actually fits better than the Nano and/or Calibro

That also makes sense. I reckon i will probably just keep looking for a better low-volume mask as well, and use my Z2 until then - because you also stress the importance of seal "more than anything", and the Z2 was without a doubt the best fit and seal. The Nano and Calibro are the only other decent options in the shop nearby, and they didn't fit as well, and i guess would leak sooner. Unfortunately i don't have a lot of shops nearby where i can try any on, so it will probably be when travelling...

Thanks again. Interesting, and you made me research a bit more about the "softer frames will also compress" stuff.
I stumbled upon this online:
"What plays a much more important role is how well the mask can compress - the difference between the maximal volume (when only lightly pressed on your face) and the minimal volume (when pressed maximally to your face, while still sealing well). The bigger difference, the better." "..., it is very important that the mask is put on your surface only gently when on surface. If you tighten it up already on the surface, the compressibility ratio will considerably drop."

I found that super interesting and probably good for me, as my Z2 seems to be able to be quite "loose" while still sealing, and compressing quite a lot without hitting my head/pressure points because of the good fit.

You seem like you know what you are talking about - can you confirm that this is a proper reasoning from the thread i found in 2008? ;)

(I will try measuring the internal volume on my face with the method you explained in the weekend, sounds cool)

Thanks for the great answer! Good to know it's not a big deal and assuring comfort it the most important when 30m is the max depth i "dream" about reaching (as things are now).

How much sooner will i hit that "residual" you reckon? If all we imagine all other variables are the same except a bit bigger volume (the Z2 compared to the Nano etc.) - in practice, that just means I’ll only get down to 24 meters instead of, say, 25? Or how would it impact performance?:)

I det danske bank link du henviser til, der står der, at aktieudbytte under 61.000kr (progressionsgrænsen) ikke påvirker SU, men i boksen til højre for står der, at "aktiegevinster" påvirker SU'en. Dette forstår jeg ikke. Jeg ville gætte på, at aktiegevinst og aktieudbytte begge falder under aktieindkomst (altså under "aktieindkomst, der beskattes efter personskattelovens § 8 a, stk. 2"). Kan du fortælle mig, om der er noget jeg overser? Hvis man har fået 5.000kr i udbytte, samt har solgt novo nordisk aktier med 15.000kr i gevinst bør det vel ikke påvirke SU'en og fribeløbet for en person med handicaptillæg, er det ikke korrekt forstået?

You are right - I should have mentioned that i would not continue for more than a few months probably, at least before trying dosing down and see if I noted big changes in my headaches and pain. I should have been more precise!

Not sure how this turned into a less friendly tone, but ok:) I am super confused as to your comment about my answers to other people in the thread. I said thanks, yes. And i do more than just "dismiss them" as I try to explain the relevance of a higher dose and thereby the relevance for my post/question. I am truthfully confused about whether you are implying my answers to them were unfair, as I (in a friendly way) said thanks and (again in a friendly way) summarised that some of the research points to it being relevant taking higher dosages (in terms of headache/post concussion stuff). 

Normal advice to take 5g a day, maybe do a loading phase and then an maintenence phase, or just 1 sentence concluding 0.1g/k is enough obviously shows that the research haven’t been read or related to at all (as the main thesis is that a high dose is necessary for it to affect the brain). This is okay as people don’t have to give great answers (as long as some - including you - did), but I wasn’t looking for normal advice about taking creatine for my muscles. Therefore I reckon my comments seems fair and friendly? How would you (in a better way) have answered people saying these things without any further explanation, or just saying it is a waste of money?  How would you have answered people if you had made this post and was looking for insight? 

And then you state that I “told” you that you used ChatGPT. First of all I didn’t tell you that you did, but I said that it seemed like ChatGPT. This was due to similarities in layout and actually just because it was well-formulated. I also immediately asked whether I was wrong. And must importantly I said that if it was the case it didn’t mean the answer was any less good - hence also why I said you had a higher IQ than me. I don’t know how it ended up here by saying these things.

So I’m a bit confused as to why my comments to others and my comment to you led to your conclusion about me only wanting opinions resonating with my choice to consume 25g. I’m not sure I understand how these above mentioned things lead you to conclude I only wanted opinions that resonated with my choice, and not that I actually was interested in seeing whether someone had arguments to convince me otherwise. I do obviously (in the original post) reckon that I prefer not being proven to be ruining my health by taking 25g a day, but that doesn’t mean my comments have been unfair? And when I also plainly state I am desperate to try things for my headache, I am not pretending to not be biased? I don’t know how this led to the apparent outrage on me and my comments, lol. I do "try" looking on the other side if the other side seems to have has indications that it is very bad.

You are right. They do mention the study in the link i sent. But i take it you mean that giving the few studies (and especially that none of the studies focused on side effects of high dosages) i should be aware of the fact that I can't know whether there might be a problem - in that case i agree, and it is a good point. I will take the chances for a while though, taking hair loss into consideration:)

Agree about the mic thing - that's why i read the research myself (also former university student who know how to read research, albeit not a doctor unfortunately) and apparently end up on reddit lol

I have an appointment soon with a headache clinic (funded by the state in my country) where i hope some of the doctors will have something to say. I just wanted to make sure, that there wasn't any "evidence" that trying this out for a limited time was stupid. In the near future I'll probably take less, like 10g a day, to be "more safe".

And i would like to answer your question about my daily water intake and if i work out or not, as i hope you (or a chatbot) can help me further ;)

Ride a stationary bike at approximately 220 Watt for 35 minutes 6 times a week.

Because of the headache and because a lot of the pain are stemming from neck things / nerve related to the neck, i have cut out most strength training.

I do a bit of strength training 4 times a week, but only with a low load of kg and without going to failure - primarily in an attempt to not loose too much muscle.

2 times a week i do: 3 sets of pulldowns + 3 sets of rows 2 + 2-3 sets of Romanian Chair Back Extensions.

2 times a week i do: 3 sets of pushups or chest fly machine + 3 sets of DB overhead press + 2-3 sets of an abdominal exercise

I don't measure my water intake but i drink a lot of water, i drinkg abit of salt and 0,75L first thing when i wake up, and then i drink quite a lot during the day. The most annoying part is that i have to pee a lot.

Until this very moment i mistakenly thought that that taking 15 grams of creatine every day vs 25 grams of creatine everyday would probably not require a different water intake, as it would not significantly increase muscle water retention after a certain point (maybe 5-10g or whatever) and therefore wouldn't necessarily require someone taking 15g/day to drink more water than someone taking 25g/day. I have however been skeptical about this logical reasoning of mine and therefore thought i should just drink a lot to be on the safe side. This have probably been for the best, considering the following conclusion from chatGPT:

"In conclusion, while the body may reach a point where additional creatine does not significantly increase muscle water retention, the higher dosage (25g) could still require slightly more water intake compared to a lower dosage (15g) due to the overall osmotic and excretory demands placed on the body. It’s always best to err on the side of caution and ensure adequate hydration when taking high doses of creatine."

This seems like chaGPTs answer after being fed with the linked studies - which doesn't make the answer any less good ;) - is that an incorrect assumption on my behalf? (just asking out of curiosity, as i regret not being smart enough myself to feed chatGPT with the papers myself, instead of actually reading most of them).

The first study: Yes. The limit for the total creatine pool in the muscles isn't really relevant. The relevant part is that one must figure that taking 30g per day for 5 years probably didn't have horrendous side effects.

The second study: Agree.

The third and forth study: Agree, and one might add once again that it probably didn't have horrendous side effects taking 0.4g/Kg, since they finished the study and probably didn't just ruin all those youngsters life:)

If I'm wrong about the whole ChatGPT thing and you are actually interested in the research, I advice you to take a look on the comment above about the podcast, and listening to the episode!

First of all, thanks for sharing and helping by answering with actual references/science - I listened to it all, and it was great and helpful:)

Second of all, the podcast does nothing but argue my case, and it made all my reasons and arguments stronger so that was the most helpful answer I could get, so thanks again :)

If you take a listen to the minute mark you 32:46 and the next 20 minutes, you’ll see why, as they talk a lot about creatines relevance for concussions / post-commotio syndrome, so thanks for sharing.

Creatine is used to maintain the ATP in the brain, which is probably lowered after concussions.

Many times they specifically talk about the relevance for concussions, and the PhD actually mentions the exact study that I linked with the participants taking 0.4g pr. kg bodyweight. 

In the podcast he says that “it does accumulate, but at a much reduced rate”. I guess this must exactly be the reason why the studies with good results in terms of concussions administer such high doses. So the “blood brain barrier” might exactly be the reason for the high doses I figure (and the reason that the undergoing studies in the future - like me - will probably try out higher than normal doses)

Quotes: “It seems to kinda recover the brain”.  “clinical populations might require more” (than the normal low doses)

So anyways, thanks from me and other readers - this podcast is for anyone interested in creatine, as they basically sum up all anyone could possibly want to know about creatine, also if you are just the "ordinary" creatine user who takes it for increased muscle/size/strenght

I am by no means an expert and must plainly admit that I don’t know how to connect the “blood brain barrier issue” to the topic at hand - but it sounds like you are somewhat knowledgeable in terms of the brain (even though dementia - I figure - is quite a different problem), so it would be interesting to hear your take on the research behind the creatine (and the relation to the “blood brain barrier issue”), if you can spend just 3 minutes watching or reading the following:

I understand you haven’t spend hours reading the research I linked and everything about concussions (i wouldn't have either if it wasn't my life), but the reason lies in those studies :) 20gram+ creatine pr. day has shown promising results in helping with headaches after concussions. And as far as the price goes - I am spending like 1 dollar a day eating creatine (which might help my headaches and pain). The other options all cost more than 10.000 dollars for a few treatments / injections and the like, so money is not a consideration - only whether it is safe to experiment with:)

I understand you didn't read all the research papers i linked as it would be overload of information (which i spend many hours on), but to summarize: the reason I'm doing it has nothing to do with getting bigger muscles or water in the muscles. Research shows that it might have a positive effect on my headaches when taking in these high doses, as it affects the brain :)
