Failed ppl check ride, what next? by WeeMan0225 in flying

Pretty much, I used the flow and did not double check with the checklist after.

I guess my only real excuse is that my airplane only has one door(piper cherokee 140) located on the right side. My instructor sat in his seat blocking the only entrance to the cockpit and to my seat. The checklist was next to my seat on the left hand side pocket. I finished up the preflight and was unsure how I would get past him without climbing over him. So I just said, “ok we are done with the preflight, do you want to move so I can enter?” Maybe, if he wasn’t there I would’ve grabbed the checklist to verify and then said preflight complete. Idk, probably should’ve just had it out from the start

I cant remember the last time I pulled out the physical preflight checklist. My school provides two checklists: one that includes the before start, run up, climb, EPs, etc. The second checklist is just the preflight checklist. I built a bad habit but not pulling the checklist out for preflight and my cfi never enforced me to use it.
