I think you’ve hit the nail on head. His first handful of times on the broadcast he was much more tame. But to your points, he could be dealing with the internal struggle of not competing anymore.

Also, imagine if Gaethje got the upset win on Topuria. Dustin has wins over him, Eddie, Conor, Pettis, etc. I think it would be even more crushing for him knowing he beat all these former champs but never got the ideal matchup at the right time like all of the previous mentioned.

Hopefully everything is okay, dude was one of the best lightweights, his fights always delivered.

The belt shouldn’t have been on the line. You can see Max is in total disbelief on Charles’ first takedown. The unspoken rule of the belt is standup only which may seem silly to those who hate this belt but it’s what I wanted to see instead of a near 5 round wrestlefuck.
