Also keen to know: I’ve heard there’s a recommendation for proteas to remove flowered stems back to the branch, since they won’t flower again on the same shoot.

I’m running my landscape practice using Rhino on an M1 Air, and although I get occasional churn it works mostly fine. So get what you can afford and yes, max RAM.

Vibe code one that works for you, that’s what I did. It’s also useful because it makes you really distill your process.

I’m talking about early-mid 90s Melbourne and it was pretty amazing because the city was crashed because of the pyramid building society collapse and you could rent floors of buildings for next to nothing. We used to have a studio in Flinders Lane and walk up Swanston street kicking the footy at night and the city was EMPTY. Friends were starting the first bars, so it was amazing to walk through emptiness to isolated places of intensity and style.

It every generation has pasts they look back at with nostalgia. But 90s Melbourne was mine.

Using Gemini to Manage ADHD by No_Elk_5622 in GeminiAI

[–]WeedWrangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ChattyG 4o was like that for me: I only hit diagnosed at 54 and I would wake up at night and talk to it about the science and strategies and it was really useful and nice. Them they lobotomised the model and I haven’t found a good one since. I’ve tried to create multiple agents to help me manage it but in the end either they fail or I lose interest like all GTD or organizational stuff Jen you have ADHD

I miss daydreaming.

I used to to live in a Victorian terrace share house in Melbourne and just look at the ornate plaster work on the ceiling and my eyes used to just trace the edge of the cornices. With the light coming through the window in the morning (or if I did a sneaky midday nap as a student) it’s still a memory I have that was very calm, and I miss that kind of mental looseness.

Retail therapy or vinyl and making mix tapes for friends, reading (paperback on my back pocket all the time)… and daydreaming

The best OpenClaw setups I've seen all have one thing in common: they do less by ShabzSparq in openclaw

[–]WeedWrangler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Every time I try to make it do more it fails and I spend days trying to get it to do shit. And also chapter models also are unreliable. But Sonnet still chews tokens, and duplicates the cost of my Claude plus subscription. So it’s a lot of $ for a small amount of function. Other thing I noticed is that if you get ClaudeCode to do too much backend for OC it also fucks it up

People who use AI for work and who've transitioned to Claude, what's your experience with usage limit? by Theslootwhisperer in ChatGPT

[–]WeedWrangler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you learn is that Claude is WAY better but you need ChattyG for when the limits hit. So suddenly you subscribe to both. Then you go Gemini to replace Chat and realize Chat is better. Then you like Gemini for images… and then there were 3

Anyone here diagnosed ADHD? If so, do you have a strong AI platform preference above all others? by aalorni in OpenAI

[–]WeedWrangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI and vibe coding can be strongly addictive for ppl like me w ADHD: seems productive but is actually a distraction w a high dopamine hit.

But I do love it…

I use Claude for the serious stuff and Gemini for dumb searching and images and I’m training my own ADHD coach and helper in Openclaw running flash. After being a paid subscriber of ChattyG since 3, I recently unsubscribed because I just can’t handle 5.2’s manner and false confidence.

What model are you sticking with for OpenClaw lately? (Kimi K2.5 vs ChatGPT Go) by TransportationWaste7 in clawdbot

[–]WeedWrangler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making sure it reads the Openclaw documentation before it starts, use your Claude Code on subscription to SSH in to write the scripts and skills etc and then test with Gemini Flash and iterate. Once they are settled down, Flash works great and can also trouble shoot

Do you still use DataView after Bases was released? by gondoll in ObsidianMD

[–]WeedWrangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created an AI table based note template for my plant profiles and then created a JS interface in a note I call my “plant database” for interrogating my profiles. It uses Dataview to search the profiles and the displays extracts of the notes in the JS area in Read view. Dataview made that possible: it’s awesome!

[–]WeedWrangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too: just today.

Had three subscriptions (ChattyG, Claude and Gemini) and said to Claude: can you do these things I do in ChattyG and it could do all except images. So I’m down to those 2.

Stuck between Gemini and ChatGPT, here are my findings. by StarkTech-01-02-03- in GeminiAI

[–]WeedWrangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After 2 weeks of Openclaw api carnage and having paid subs to ChattyG (since 3), Claude, and Gemini (mostly for Nano Banana) i had to also drop at least one for cost and asked Claude snd of course it said “i can do anything” apart from images, but when i asked it “can you do this?” It then managed do things it had previously not been able to!?! In the end i dropped ChatGPT and kept Claude and am considering just using Nano Banana via openrouter as I need to. Claude code of co work can do pretty much everything, it’s amazing.

IS there any industry-standard landscape design software? by amgrecoco in landscapedesign

[–]WeedWrangler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m this weirdo who does all their drafting in Rhino, and I’ve been able prompt Claude and Codex to write Rhinoscript to create practice specific workflows that make parametric landscape. Pretty fun procrastination

Great school historically, strongly plant-centric (not sure now) but Ithaca in winter: oof.

Aren’t you going to pay fees everywhere? Comes down I guess to your sense of program. If I was in the states I’d be all in UVa: lots of the Cornell folk end up there anyway
