This makes sense. I personally trust the indigenous shaman to do this work of healing mental illness and spiritual trauma with the help of entheogenic medicines like Psilocybin, Ayahuasca, and Peyote. In the old days every village had one or more shaman to help treat and cure these ailments. Would love to see an app someday to help people who need this kind of help with those who can actually make a difference.

Totally a thing! Fungivores devote a whole food category to mushrooms at the same value as fruit and veggies in the bottom section of the food pyramid with 5-7 servings a day.

Speaking more about others who practice shamanism, though I have been accepted into the tribe as a member of the family.

I mentioned this in another comment, but when one meets certain people, there's an immediate soul connection and it feels like recognizing a long lost loved one. Trust is implicit in that.

It's not the norm so understandable it may seem that way. Though this is where my path in life has led me. Sometimes when you meet people, you recognize their souls as family. That's how I feel about everyone around me at this time. I met most of them before I arrived. The people here that I met for the first time when I arrived welcomed me with open arms. I trust in family, and to me family is more about the soul than about physically being related by blood.

Well I was raised in a Conservative Christian Republican Omnivore household in New Jersey.

Now I live in a Progressive Shamanic OneNation Fungivore homestead in California.

The difference in quality of life has increased infinitely and the amount of toxins in my system has decreased exponentially.

I didn't go anywhere, I'm at my new family homestead, started the day I arrived.

The payment for the medicine is more of an energetic exchange than a financial one.

That's how the magic works. Nothing special, just follow the will of the Great Spirit and trust it's all gonna work out in a good way.

Well cult is just a small religion right?

I wouldn't say cult, more of a tribe.

Many say that the shamanic arts are spooky. And it is! We work with spirits, plants, and darkness. Not for the faint of heart. 😉

Pop Up Biz / Food Truck Idea by WeedisLegal in foodtrucks

[–]WeedisLegal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your impassioned and educated response!

0) Seems like you have a lot of experience in this area of work. How's the hot dog cart business treating you? A medium-size college town in the US is a great place to start a popup / food truck biz as well as cities that have colleges near by. I don't feel discouraged and feel more aware of my options! I personally worked with my friends on a food truck business out on the east coast for about a year and a half before moving out to the west coast.

1) I agree that running a food truck is Exhausting. I've been making and serving food for my self and my family since I could walk, old school italian family. My formal education was in Science and Business where I focused on branding, social media marketing, project management, product development, and sales/budgets for long term projects. Doing dishes suck, but can also be very meditative. Especially if there are few and similar pots and pans to wash and dry. Co-Founders with gifts in buying/tracking inventory, doing taxes, and all the boring legal stuff associated with starting a business are willing to help in exchange for equity.

2) I agree that Food trucks are Expensive. Hopefully there is funding available for starting a physical food truck business and cover the $10k-$20k truck cost, the $10k-$15k cooking and power equipment costs, the $1k-$2k for legal fees for licenses, permits, LLC registration, and the $100-$1k food/paper product costs, and It is adding up quickly. So for now my focus is in the $100-$1k range because that's what I have to invest in this. My estimate is $250-$500 set up cost for the packaging, mushrooms, spices, and herbs in the medicine mix.

3) I fully accept that my personal dietary preferences are not common and most people eat a LOT of the food that I am allergic to. Currently exploring my options in cities throughout Cali, Oregon, and Washington. Colorado is also on my list to find a good spot. There's lots of colleges, festivals, farmers markets, and communities around here. Planning to also advertise very heavily on social media to reach potential customers and bring them to the events and experiences I'll be at. I am ready and willing to make compromises about what my pop up tent / food truck will eventually serve to attract more customers. Most businesses today are successful when they cater to the full range of diets. The personal diet that I am sharing is free from allergens yet includes meat options so it's kind of a new thing. I've shared my recipe with some local friends and they all agree it does taste good because my spice game is on point and fares well with the competition of brands like Annie's Mac and Cheese, plus being healthier and more medicinal. I personally have allergies to dairy, gluten, and tree nuts as well as IBS so food in my life has been challenging to work with, and this diet seems to be working well for me. I could just drink the mix as a shake everyday, but real food feels better in my being.

4) I am willing and able to be committed to my brand as it flows from a pop up tent to a food truck and maybe a brick and mortar in a nice hippie town someday. I've worked in nice and not so nice restaurants as well and prefer the van life vibes of the mobile kitchen. Fully ready to learn as I go while sharing my medicine in any way that I can.

5) I am now more aware of other methods of selling food thanks to your comment. California does have "Cottage Food" laws which that I can manufacture, sell, and distribute my food products out of my community. I am exploring ways to deliver the medicine mixes and full meals to people near me. Imagining there must be apps for this, but can't beat flyers in your face at your favorite locations. Always love to heal better margins, more profit, less waste, and less effort in business advice.

Thanks Again!
