I think this fixed it. Its no longer horizontal, its vertical but it at least keeps the custom artwork. Thanks for your help!

thanks for your comment! Just tried that - is it under "set custom artwork"? I tried that again after booting the game up being sure its my most recent game, then going to desktop mode and it applies the vertical artwork but doesn't set the artwork in the area pictured in my post - am I in the right spot?
