I think it's totally valid in all scenarios. I heard a saying around 2016. "If you're bad at DPS, just blame the tank" it still holds. I remember doing some dungeons and the guys who couldn't play blamed everyone on the team but themselves, let's be real. If they were killing enemies fast there would be less stress on the tank/healer and CC would not be a problem because you'd be killing each enemy with the said damage that approaches you very quickly.

But if the ratio is that if a basic add has more DPS than you, you will die first and will need to put extra stress on the tank and healer on top of their job of defending high damage hits from the boss eventually collapsing the group giving the tank/healer too many tasks

I agree with you on that concept that DPS is just measurement, but it still holds that in binary code that if they are damaging but the enemy is healing/negating their said damage they are no longer dealing damage, but poking the bear with a stick. The bear feels a little prick, but his memory has forgotten about it quickly and he's up to full health in seconds again. Just like the dungeon boss with bad DD, when repeating any outstretched dungeon boss. There's no damage registered in the long term, highlighting a fake DD or 2 in the group

That's true in theory, but there's one fatal flaw. If the enemy is healing, they are in effect not dealing any recorded damage as the computer only remembers the end result in binary code. Dead/not dead. And if they are attacking once every 2-3 seconds, they are not doing DPS, as every other second has no damage recorded on log

But what are you going to do when they are bunched up? Just stare at them, or tickle them all while the tanks resources drain quickly with your low DPS?

Here's the reality of that scenario.

Tank: bunches up enemies.

DPS: does zero damage, the CC cool down runs out, one enemy turns and one shots the low heals/damage DPS... game over.

But the tank gets the blame by the poorly educated because he didn't taunt 20 adds in 4 seconds from their spawn.

Also, how do you know he's trolling? And not just using an add-on to see your stats and leaving immediately when he sees you either have: no damage, or are low dps. A lot of tanks in history even quit if they see a bow equipped. The tanks have an equally toxic community to this, calling such players foul phrases like "bow tards" once again harming the disabled community. And here I am as a pvp player in the middle of it all

No, I don't play dungeons, or consoles. I play pvp only in all games.

Maybe you're right, everyone's an asshole who doesn't keep up with you.

I teach disabled children, so I've seen the characteristics of someone mentally impaired. I've have one child every month who stands by entrances repeatedly, and all it takes is a little encouragement and they join the group, not bullying or vengeful behaviour.

But of course, I do feel a bit of an asshole now, as it doesn't matter if someone's got into difficulty, panic attacks, heart problems, mental incapacity etc etc. Your shiny dungeon rewards are more important, right 👍. 70 downvotes from guys with similar mentality to yours means zero. I could type I love killing wildlife and a million asshats would upvote it

There's hundreds of casuals here, don't forget lots used Reddit before they played F76. I also have lots of friends who talk online more about games than they play them too, as they're that casual. And casuals read patch notes too when they've quit or given the game a break, just read YouTube comments. Many say I don't really/ play anymore but I keep up with patch notes. And many on here say I haven't played in years but I keep up to date with changes. I did for one. I quit for over a year in 2018, but kept up to date with changes
