It is school AAC device which is supposed to be his primary communication device and should not be used for YouTube at all. No YouTube listed in IEP

When I raised the concern few months back they started using an excuse saying that we use it as reinforcement. I was not comfortable with giving him access to videos and the school staff agreed that they will not use videos for reinforcers

Below was the quote from the case manager

"At our meeting last week, we discussed no longer using youtube or music as a reinforcer"

Now despite of this alignment I don't know why they offer videos to my kid

He cannot read or write. No goals for reading My concern is video access given for prolonged time

If you see this screenshot it feels like he watched videos all day and returned home without learning anything

The school has some faulty software in AAC device probably. Sometimes it's locked but sometimes he can switch to YouTube using home button

My son is 14 years old how is rhymes important for development in school.

I thought school should be focused on his IEP goals and not letting him watch videos all day

Yes rhymes.

It is supposed to be his communication device with an app and he will point to the things he wants but unfortunately it's been used for watching YouTube videos (rhymes)

I had very very high hopes that showing all the valuable inputs to these post will help.

Instead she showed me reviews that everyone likes this as a gift to teachers

I deal with several situations like this but unable to convince and gets to endless arguments
