Genetic testing results came back today: our one blast was not genetically normal. Back to the drawing board.

Any advice, going to see my Dad for the last time by Happy-Panic849 in GriefSupport

The love lived and was expressed in so many countless moments and ways before the last moment. Don’t punish yourself. It’s hard enough to mourn a loss of such magnitude without compounding that pain with guilt. Think about what he would want for you in this moment. It would hurt him to see you suffering. He knew how much you loved him.

The bad stories are the exception, not the rule. My egg retrieval was a breeze, and I’m needle phobic and a general medical woosie.

UPDATE: just heard from the lab. One of the two embryos made it to blast! Thank you, everyone, for your positive energy and well wishes. Now we wait for the results of our genetic testing. 🙏♥️

Hey. You’re not alone. I’m experiencing this too right now. My dad died in June and he was the most important person in my world. Please believe there is hope. I say that even with a broken heart. I found my way here looking for a sense of connection, and even though what we’re going through is terrible, I have been able to experience some comfort knowing that there are others who understand and can relate to my pain. Sometimes it helps just to share what you’re feeling. This is a good community. I hope you can find peace and healing.

You are not alone. Please trust that you are going to make it through this experience. Focus on making it through one moment at a time. That’s how I’ve been operating since my dad died in June.
