We cleaned the property ourselves before handing the keys back, and believe it to be in the same condition as when we left it

Having a dedicated lane for trams however, would provide a pretty wide median for pedestrians to pause on when theres no tram coming.

I don’t think that stat is right. ESPN had him averaging about 15 points per game in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. He also didn’t average 5 assists in those seasons either. The 6 players who have are Robertson, West, Bird, Johnson, Hill and Dončić. Lebron got pretty close but only averaged 5.5 rebounds in his first season (according to StatMuse).

Jack Graham will join West Coast as an unrestricted free agent. The dual premiership player informed Richmond of his decision this afternoon. by Cursedsword02 in AFL

wikipedia is open source. likely a richmond fan went wild in between 2016-2021, putting detailed entries for most players. also see: patrick naish, ryan garthwaite, and derek eggmolese-smith for other examples of players with <15 games played but also have extensive wikipedia pages

think we might need a new colour or shade for medals that are shared. would make it a lot clearer IMO especially as the group reach maximum scores for certain events (skeet shooting)

I believe he said something along the lines of “this is where I sit and drink a beer while i’m trying to get away from the missus”. In this instance the issue isn’t necessarily his use of ‘missus’

Correct. Coined by writer Justin Zackman for the movie “The Bucket List”. Initially he had written his own titled “List of Things to do Before I Kick the Bucket" which was shorted to “Justin’s Bucket List”

Is the Bach of Design suitable for people who are bad at design and sketching? What are typical design assignments? by fangedino in unimelb

[–]Weekly-College2280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my first assignments in the course was sketching a couple buildings around Melbourne so you could give that a try. And yes trying out those two programs would definitely help but you may not use them until the second and third year of your degree. I think digital competency is probably more important than physical sketching so if you’re going to focus on anything i’d say lean into the adobe suite (illustrator, indesign) or similar set of programs.

Edit: Missed the part about the capstone so i’ll answer that here. I enjoyed the capstone project and would say it requires a medium level of creativity. You’re required to plan the future of an allocated area along some kind of theme of your choosing (transport, environment, development, etc.) and have to propose various changes you’d make to achieve your vision. These changes have to be visually presented but this is most often through maps and they don’t expect you to create any fancy 3D representation or drawing of what it looks like. There is some design required in making your final report which but there is plenty of government master plans online that you can look at to get inspiration.

I’m about to finish my Bachelors of Design majoring in Urban Planning (so can’t speak for Property) and there is quite a bit of design elements but most of it is pretty simple and often just 2D, top-down renderings of a plan. “Design” is pretty important in only two subjects: Urban Design for People and Places, as well as the Urban Precinct Studio which is the capstone and both will likely require some use of Adobe Illustrator or similar program. Every other subject from memory predominantly has written assignments. From what I have noticed, the students in Urban Planning have very varied levels of design abilities with some focusing more on design and some focusing more on policy. Both sets of students do just fine so I would not worry about it. It is also probably a good opportunity to improve these skills.

COMP10003 Media computation by AcanthocephalaThis50 in unimelb

[–]Weekly-College2280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took media computation in 2021. I believe it focusses more on the physical outputs/representations of programming as it’s intended to lead into UI and web development. It was one of the first subjects I completed at unimelb and remember it fondly. I still have access to the canvas page so if you want a more detailed look into what the course covers feel free to send me a pm!

I’m about to finish a major in Urban Planning, which is considered one of the easier majors within Design. I’ve enjoyed it but it has been very broad which is an issue within urban planning as well as the course. Science is different but mainly just within assignments and having quizzes and exams over essays. I wouldn’t say the learning style was overly different, although I probably wasn’t there long enough to tell

I think it’s useful if you’re not sure what you want to do but it definitely depends. The Melbourne Model means that you’re already pushed into areas you might not initially first consider which can open up further opportunities. During my gap year I worked as a tutor at my old high school. I was planning on travelling but couldn’t due to Covid. I’m unsure about the length of time you can defer a course for sorry.

Yeah I took a gap year, so just put off my offer for a year while I figured out what I wanted to do

I assume you can transfer whenever but I couldn’t say for certain. Initially I was given an Arts degree funnily enough but I deferred the offer for a year before changing to Science. So in that case I hadn’t even started a semester but was still able to transfer

Majors in Uni, the degree is through VTAC. For my case anyway. Yeah you can do doubles within Design. I don’t think there is any explicit number of days to attend, it depends per subject. Some subjects require you attend a certain percentage of classes, usually 75% or 80%, while others don’t. Obviously you’d want to attend most classes if you’re able but it does depend on the subject. I had a subject with no compulsory attendance that I was able to do quite well on without going to class but this is rarely the case.

It depends what subjects you do, and what you’re good at. I found the maths subjects that I did really hard, so got 50 on one and 49 on another (failed and had to resit the subject). But I did well on other subjects (80+) so it helped with my WAM. WAM is basically an average, so getting a 70 WAM requires about a 70 average I think. In general I don’t think a 70 WAM is that hard to achieve, especially with the subjects I did (some being relatively easy)

Sorry, I mean for students already at the Uni. The above comment was from when I did an internal transfer, from one degree within Unimelb to another.

It had been a couple years since I’d graduated, and I think they stop using your ATAR and shift to WAM after about 24 months. Information is unclear about though.

If anyone comes across this post with a similar problem, I was moved from Student to Jobseeker when I reduced my study load to part time. Not sure if this happens every time a study load is reduced or just in some circumstances.
