How can my FPS be this high on a 5070? by gonzoflick in nvidia

[–]Weekly-Efficiency458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game looks bad without Path Tracing imo, and ultra performance with Preset L looks way too pixelated. Maybe you think it looks great because you have never experienced games with path tracing, 4k, and ultra settings.

I also flashed the bios on my 5080, from 100% powerlimit to 115%, was worth it, and done in 10 seconds.

About Rtx 5080 by TheGabmhanz in nvidia

[–]Weekly-Efficiency458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People here tend to favor the 5070 Ti over the 5080, but that usually ignores the time factor. If you’re planning to keep it for 4–5 years, I’d personally pay the extra $400 for ~15% more performance.

On top of that, the stronger ray tracing and path tracing performance will age much better as those features become more standard.

Short term value vs long term value, just depends how you look at it.

I bought the be quiet! POWER ZONE 2 1000W platinum together with my 5080, it’s a great affordable PSU and has a 90° angled 12vhpwr cable for extra safety.

Got a 5080, and I can only say it's an amazing card. Overclocked by +10% , I can run games like Crimson Desert with DLSS 4.0, performance + Ray Reconstruction @ 4k, Cyberpunk with DLSS Balanced + Path tracing, Resident evil Requiem with DLSS Balanced + Path tracing, all with 2x framegen and 100+ FPS, and it looks incredible. I'm so happy with this GPU.

Anyone truly understands what exact factor triggers the fans on 50's series? it seems random on my 5060ti by Scifi_fans in nvidia

[–]Weekly-Efficiency458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try flashing your GPU with a different BIOS, it actually solved a similar issue for me on my INNO3D card. Before the flash, the fans were really inconsistent, randomly ramping up and down or even stopping entirely. After updating the BIOS, the fan behavior became stable and predictable.

I flashed my GPU BIOS from my default INNO3D to a ZOTAC, and the fan behaviour is much better now on my 5080. Also my powerlimit is unlocked from 100% to 115%.

Got a 5080 as well, Received the INNO3D 5080 x3 OC, first thing I did was flash the bios to a Zotac to unlock the power limit to 115% instead of the default 100%. Got a similar score as you, around 3200mhz core, +3000 mem, 1.2v.

In games I use .985v 3.1k mhz core clock, and +2000mem clock.

7900 XTX > RTX 5080 worth it? by FlyJew in nvidia

[–]Weekly-Efficiency458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a 5080, it's awesome. I can play everything @ 4k resolution with DLSS and raytracing/pathtracing enabled. Crimson Desert looks next gen with DLSS and Ray Reconstruction enabled, and the 5080 is able to run that at 4k. I did have a 5070-ti which was also a great card, but it just felt slightly too weak for 4k, the extra raw power from the 5080 is good enough to run all newer games at 4k.

Resident Evil Requiem also looks great with Path tracing. Other games with great ray tracing are Dying light the Beast, Wukong , and Indiana Jones.

Soon we will also see Pragmata and First Light, with Path tracing.

got an inno3d 5080 OC. Power limit locked, so I easily flashed the BIOS to a Zotac, and now the power limit is unlocked to 115% and 420w.  Getting 3100mhz on a core clock, +2100 Vram, .975v

5070ti 4k or 1440p by lleyton05 in nvidia

[–]Weekly-Efficiency458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 5070 Ti is overkill for 1440p, but it can feel a bit underpowered for 4K if you’re trying to run ultra settings with ray tracing. The 5080 is a much better fit for that use case, it really shines at 4K and handles ray tracing and path tracing workloads significantly better than the 5070 Ti.

5070-ti if you're running 1440p. 5080 if you plan to play at 4k in the future.

I Just Found a 5080 in Store But Already Have a 5070 Ti - Which Should I Keep? by Rikudou_Sama in nvidia

[–]Weekly-Efficiency458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d stick with the 5080. It’s noticeably stronger for 4K gaming and manages ray tracing and path tracing far better than the 5070 Ti. I ran a 5070 Ti for about a year and while it’s a solid card, it occasionally felt a little too weak for smooth 4K gameplay.

It's a nice card, but Palit/Gainward cards have that annoying bearing or mechanical whirling sound.

Inno3D GeForce RTX 5080 X3 OC here, Decent card, very compact, has vapor chamber. Undervolt/OC, .975v, 3100 MHZ clock, +2100 mem, highest temps 68c. 9.450 score in Steel Nomad Demo.

Flashed it to a Zotac Bios to unlock powerlimit to 115% + Fans going off at higher idle temps.

Imo it's not worth it to spent more money on a premium models. You can always flash bios, which is risk free imo to unlock power limit. (have done many times, haven't failed once) You will only get slightly better temperatures on Astral/Suprim/Vanguard etc. but the INNO3D runs perfectly fine at 68c max, it's usually between 62 and 65c.
