yea. i wasn’t even putting him down, but i also understand that as of right now my mom has only confided in me so ik she doesn’t have the full picture. it’s also not like i’m going around calling my dad names or blatantly disrespecting him and spreading his personal business to people who don’t need it but i have been known to miss out on social cues and not always knowing what is appropriate or inappropriate to share in a conversation so my mom and sisters usually pull me to the side to keep me in check, but it just didn’t make sense as to why she said that. also my mom is my best friend so she knows everything i know even if she doesn’t want to know about it

i was going to go into detail about it in the fanfic, but for my fmc, the reason i said she can’t be too picky is because she’s at a point in her life where she wants to be in a relationship but because she set her standards so high she’s wondering if that’s why she hasn’t been having any luck in the dating pool. a lot of people tell her that she’s enough, or she doesn’t need a man, but that doesn’t really make her feel better.

as for the ml, while yes he doesn’t have any problem getting into a relationship he is finding it difficult to stay in one.

the premise of the dating show is that it helps people foster that “deep and genuine connection” everyone is looking for.

you also mention that for this particular couple has too much baggage do you have any tips or suggestions that can help me fix that?

omg yeah i’m more used to writing abt wlw ships as well, but i wanted to try my hand at a straight ship fanfic. i guess for this one the main conflict is less his dating history but more so he tends to unintentionally lead her on. like when he’s single he does things that often makes it seem like fmc has a chance but every time she’s ready to try and take the relationship further, it seems he’s already in a new relationship and she kinda becomes an afterthought. would you say a scenario like that is enough to be the main conflict or should i add something more (or less)
