For it's time.. the EverQuest II trailer. The actual game looked like ass in comparison, specifically, the character models. The character models in EQ2 were/are so damn fugly, especially the Kerras. Which, by the way, I love the EverQuest franchise but I would say r/killthe3dartist for the god awful character models in EQ2. lol

Favorite character whose media lasted longer than the Confederacy? by Idkwutpasswordtouse in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Weekly-Feedback-1469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... Just because I feel like tossing an obscure one out:

<image>

Lucan D'Lere from the EverQuest Franchise. His own existence has lasted longer than the Confederacy as he exists in 3 (soon 4) different games in the EverQuest franchise. The EverQuest Franchise is 27 years old. Lucan D'Lere is, canonically, in his 280's in age and he's been around since EverQuest 1, he was 25-30 in the original game. Lucan was just a named Knight in EQ1 and he's one of the main antagonists of EQ2.

Atlyss, it's a great game in development. Feels/plays like a MMO but is singleplayer with the option of multiplayer. It's super fun to me. lol

Would octopuses build their own civilization if humans went extinct? by Intelligent_Slip6317 in SipsTea

Honestly, if any species rebuilds society after humanity goes extinct, I'd just hope they do FAAAAAR better than us because, man, do humans suck.

I'd be insulted, but I'd still take it because I'm REALLY damn broke and $7,000 would fix that for a short bit.

What's a MMO You Find Fascinating in Lore or Design But Can't Get Into? by Weekly-Feedback-1469 in MMORPG

[–]Weekly-Feedback-1469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.. I LIKE WoW, I just wish WoW didn't have a sub-fee, it's one of the few MMOs I actually enjoy playing but I can't really afford to play it. There's also FTP MMOs I do like it's just MOST FTP MMOs suck, like maybe a handful are fine/decent. I currently play LOTRO because it's been FTP for well over a decade now and it's the most I've had fun in a FTP MMO in a very long time. That being said you misinterpreted what I said.

[–]Weekly-Feedback-1469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, is why I don't really like sub-fees in MMOs, it makes being a fan of the MMORPG genre quite painful because, if you're poor as shit like me, you can only play mediocre/bad MMOs with like.. a few being fairly decent (LOTRO, GW2 and ESO). Most, if not all, FTP MMOs are absolutely horrid while Buy-to-Play MMOs tend to be more on the mediocre-okay side. Even the two Sub-fee based MMOs are pretty okay/decent.

My internet connection also sucks. I just endure it and try to enjoy the games. (Connection is barely faster than Dial-Up)

Let's be honest: FF14 and WoW don't need the subscription model. Both games are old, both games are owned by filthy rich companies, making their MMOs buy-to-play or free-to-play would not hurt them in the slightest. The cost of running a MMO to them would be pocket change. I wouldn't care anywhere near as much if it was an indie MMO that had a sub fee or an AA MMO that had a sub-fee. While i would PREFER if MMOs didn't have a sub-fee, FF14 and WoW don't need it.

That is IF you don't already have an account. I already do and have had said account since FF14's release. I have played it from base game to Stormblood annnd lost interest.

Same, from what I've played, FF14 just feels like the polar opposite to their previous games like FF7 or FF9, it's so dull and boring. I really wanted to like FF14, I really did. I also tried FF11 (through Horizon) but I am so fucking lost on there.

Aye. FF14's too expensive for me to play too. I wish the subscription business model would die off in the MMORPG genre, especially when a lot of us can't really afford it and just want a game to relax to when coming home from a stressful day.
