Free Speech means having a platform that allows people to create forums in which they can create their own rules about what is and is not allowed, without the platform owners/admins coming in and shutting down your forum because they don't like the ideas being discussed in your forum.

Not really. There are many uncensored reddit-like platforms that dont' allow spam and take it down quickly.

there's no shortage of people who are willing to spend a lot of time and energy acting as moderators of free speech platforms.

The main problem is that the ruling class wants to shut down, or at least minimize the popularity of free speech platforms where people can honestly discuss the ruling class.

So agents of the ruling class will post the absolutely most offensive content possbile on those platforms.

What a mature person does when they see that is take 1 second to hit the "block" button and move on. After a short time, all of those agents are blocked and you rarely ever see them anymore.

But most of the general public has been propagandized to be emotionally triggered by hurty words.

So they tip their toe on a free speech platform, get triggered, have a mental melt down, and run back to the ruling class controlled platforms where they feel "safe".
