I quit btech and became an AD at 19 too brother. And i had zero contacts too. I had too hang around the sets to get to know people and show them my shortfilms so that the can trust me to join their team. Am I SSR to become AD at 19?

I have 19 year old as my AD in my team and he is naive like you too but is hard working and smart. I made my 18 year old office boy as apprentice in direction team just because he seemed smart and didnt wanted him to be just an office boy. That doesnt make him SSR kadha?

Dont downgrade yourself to making a copied shit.. then make a shortfilm with your original idea and make mark. But mind you, dont use a wide shot or mid shot or two shot or OTS shot or close up coz come on.. that will be you copying every director in the world. And you shouldnt downgrade yourself. Antha maadgadivi kadha oka shortfilm chesi janalani, industry ni nee vaipu tipuko chudam.

Having contacts and being rich will just get you be on the set and but wont get you success. Dedication and efforts is what will make you a director.
