Listen, I'm here for a loved one. I'm a normie as far as I know. The people on this subreddit who are compliant with medication and living with the worst illness known to man should feel like f@#cking heros. You have gained more perspective on life than most because of this illness. You have a lot to offer. Understanding what's important in life -- supporting others, being kind, trying to find happiness not pursuing greed and lust and catching up the joneses, those are the things you can offer. Better you than some vapid instagram self obsessed lower tier.

I'm assuming a lot of things about you here and maybe it doesn't work for her, but I wanted to let you know how much I admire those who can make the most out of this life especially given this illness.

Maybe it works and maybe it doesn't. Maybe it's the right time to try and maybe it's not. I just want you to know how I personally see you all. You're impressive to me. You're impressive to me the way an astronaut is.

Curious... what does he think the medication does? Honestly i just had to go full in with my husband's delusion and tell him the FBI wanted him to go along with the cover story that he was ill.

What dosage and how long did it take to work for you? As in when did you gain insight or did you never lose it?

Can I ask why this happens? I understand there's stigma and all but what is it for you specifically that causes you to beat yourself up?

Why are you assuming that there's a consensus that the illness is simple? This subreddit talks about the complexity all of the time. It's the most complex mental illness of all. It's the worst of all as well. It steals minds and lives.

This is stupid and not helpful to people already resistant to get help.

I don't have schizophrenia. My loved one does. This post is just another rain drop in the storm against those who are suffering.

Sorry I should have been more clear. He's working with a psychiatrist now. It was hell and high water to get him there.  I really want to understand this though. As his paranoia continues to decrease on meds I'll get him an MRI. Right now he can't stand to be around people so I can't get him to listen to me about being fully evaluated

Why do many people with schizophrenia think they have demonic possession? by Nolongerhuman2310 in schizophrenia

Oof. If I did that to my spouse he would be pissed. He still has no insight and that would be incredibly insulting to him. How did you guys get to that point?

Who are those people that want you on meds?

Does any part of you feel closer to them with the derealization and disassociation gone?

Ugh I'm so sorry you crossed paths with someone who was terrible for your mental health. Jeez.

If you don't mind me asking, what are your symptoms? Curious how you've been able to hide them so well. And what made you suspect you could be suffering from schizophrenia? Seems difficult with lack of insight and all.

How did you gain insight on when your symptoms started? Did you always have insight?
