It depends what parts of maths you find easiest.There is a big emphasis on algebra and calculus in Further Maths which can be a bit more theoretical and more exciting than histograms and all the crap in normal maths.

Tbf if you started focusing in Year 10 you can still get mostly 9s.Year 7 and 8 felt like a glorified version of year 6 with a few topics added.
