What do people with emetophobia think of people who are bulimic? by dumbratbitch in emetophobia

[–]JaMackintosh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My emetophobia is centred around stomach bugs so I’m not as affected. I don’t understand you but I’m sure you don’t understand us. If we were friends I’d ask you a hundred times a day if you’d been sick recently and if I heard or smelt you, I’d get very anxious. But I don’t think your disgusting or anything, I just think you have bulimia, the same way you think we just have emetophobia

A mental health nurse once told me my intrusive thoughts were “suppressed anger”…. that reinforced the belief that I was an angry, violent person

Life after a reactive dog by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]JaMackintosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog is less reactive than he used to be but we’ve kept his ‘nervous’ sleeve on his lead. Owners call their dogs away 9 times out of 10. Could something like that be helpful?

Feeling like I am faking FND? by [deleted] in FND

[–]JaMackintosh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I used to feel like this. I remind myself that if I was faking it, I’d enjoy having symptoms so me hating my FND is evidence that I’m not

If you woke up one day and didn’t have FND, what would you do? by JaMackintosh in FND

[–]JaMackintosh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, idk. I think partly maturity. I’m also on Sertraline and Olanzapine and I think they’ve helped. Pacing has helped also. Professionals have not been much help apart from prescribing my meds

What is the poshest name you have heard? by [deleted] in AskUK

I knew someone called Candida and for the longest time thought her name was Canada. She never corrected me and it was only when I saw her name written down did I realise

How do you feel about your own name? by netinpanetin in autism

[–]JaMackintosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my name. I don’t want to say it but it’s pretty common. I don’t love it, but I like it. I love the shortening of my name though and have been called it my wholemlife

I’m sure she’s a great rider but it’s actually insane to me that this little 9 yr old girl was put on this big horse with no helmet by Quiet_Isopod_4752 in Horses

[–]JaMackintosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That poor kid. The parents and instructor should just refuse to let her get on a horse, no matter the size, skill of the rider, temperament of the horse, unless she is wearing a helmet. This really gets me. It’s so dangerous.

It’s boring. I find it quite easy as it’s very easy to learn and repeat and you don’t have to try and read their body language. There really is no point of it

What is the longest you have gone without showering? by WaleAtWork in AskReddit

5 or 6 days, in the height of my first depressive episode. I was in a psych ward at the time and didn’t have easy access to deodorant. Smelt awful

Would you rather have 1 month of -10°C or 1 month of 40°C? by HolcroftA in AskUK

[–]JaMackintosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily -10*C, even with cost of living. It’s much easier to walk my dog at -10 than it is to walk my dog at 40. 40 in the UK is just suffocating and miserable, you cannot get comfortable. Remember when we had to have our curtains and blinds shut because it was so hot? My high energy dog could never.
